1 What is Acts 1:8 Ministry? Our Purpose & Mission Acts 1:8 Ministry s mission is to equip Christians to care, share and connect people to Christ worldwide through Christian kindness. Our Programs Program 1: Planned Acts of Christian Kindness (P.A.C.K. ) Program An act of kindness, big or small, can change a person s life...why not do it in the name of Jesus? We offer a free downloadable outreach program called Planned Acts of Christian Kindness (P.A.C.K. ) through our website. This program is 100% free and includes P.A.C.K. outreach instructions and ideas, along with follow-up support via phone, email and in person. Our Ministry Coordinator also speaks at local churches and groups for in person P.A.C.K. outreach training. Acts 1:8 Ministry has partnered with a local church, Pilgrim Lutheran Church, located near our home office in Green Bay, Wisconsin to host and coordinate monthly P.A.C.K. community outreach events to encourage other churches to get involved with P.A.C.K. Media is encouraged to cover these events as this is a great method to market P.A.C.K. For more information about our P.A.C.K. Program, please view page 3 of this report. Program 2: Water Tower Project Thanks to our generous partners, we have built 92 water towers in Uganda, Africa since 2008. Rain water is collected in the water towers during the rainy season and provides clean, safe and convenient water for families during the dry season. The water towers are built in an area of Uganda called the Wakiso District, which is a post war conflict area. This district is considered a peri-urban area and is very densely populated. Prostitution and poverty are highly prevalent, which has increased the number of orphans and street children. The Wakiso District has been plagued with a lack of clean and safe water and no steps have been taken yet by the government to solve this problem. To facilitate and build our water towers, we partner with Ruth and Daniel, the directors of Another Hope Children s Ministry located in Uganda. They organize the construction of the water towers by purchasing the supplies, hiring local villagers to construct them, oversee the building and minister to the villagers. For more information about our Water Tower Project, please view page 4 of this report. Our Fundraising Methods Acts 1:8 Ministry is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are funded entirely by one-time, continual and legacy gifts from individual partners, business partners and grants from foundations as well as funds raised through fundraising events such as concerts. For 2013 revenue and expense totals, please see page 6 of this report. Our Geographic Scope Our target audience is worldwide. Our Planned Acts of Christian Kindness Outreach Program is currently in 48 states and 32 countries, with a goal of being in every state and country. Our Water Tower project is active in Uganda, Africa.

2 The History of Acts 1:8 Ministry One man s story of submitting to God and watching Him move. By: Jeff Van Beaver, President & Founder The conception of God's brilliant plan for an outreach ministry began when the pastor of Jeff's church challenged him to read a book called Conspiracy of Kindness. At that time, he had no inclination of the enormity of what the book would trigger. As chairman of his church's evangelism board, Jeff was intrigued by the book's simplistic approach in reaching out to the community through acts of Christian kindness. The beauty of the method is evidenced in how it allows churches or individuals to share their faith in a simple, non-threatening way. Thus, inspired by the book, and with the pastor's approval, Jeff's church initiated its very first outreach event from their own parking lot. The free car wash and soda giveaway allowed them to incorporate the Care, Share, and Connect philosophy. While caring for people, they were able to share the love of Christ through prayer and ultimately connect them to church. More events rolled out and, with them, the most common question of why someone would do these things with nothing in return emerged. Department store parking lots became a goldmine for prayer. Many people came with many problems. These people were desperate for a listening ear and eager to have someone to pray for them. The popularity of the program soon caught the attention of the local media. Phones rang and excitement spread, unleashing a system that began to grow with intensity as other local churches picked up the pattern. For nearly 20 years, Jeff had been pressed with the idea of starting a ministry; praying for direction and asking God to prepare him for a vision that was not yet clear to him. As he watched the way God was moving through these outreach events, the vision finally started to reveal itself. In 2002, Jeff was urged by his calling and invited a group of faithful friends from his church to meet. They showed up at a local restaurant with no agenda; their sole objective to talk about a ministry based on Christian kindness. Their Bibles were the only tools they brought to this meeting. They prayerfully looked to God's Word for a scripture that would reflect the intent of the ministry that was about to be birthed. They discussed Jesus' command in Acts 1:8 to be witnesses to the ends of the earth and how Christian kindness would be the perfect means to fulfill this command. And so it was decided the appropriate name be Acts 1:8 Ministry. Not long after this, Jeff was roused in the middle of the night by a powerful tugging at his heart. God was telling him, without question or debate, the He wanted Jeff to give away the tool company that he had owned and operated for six years. But how could God expect him to forfeit his business? After all, it wasn't just a company; it was the trusty sixfigure livelihood that supported his family! Jeff questioned the craziness of the idea and how it sat completely in contrast to the world's ideas. He asked himself how he could possibly explain to his wife that God was prompting him to walk away from a profitable business. But even as he considered these questions, he was convicted with the realization that he had become increasingly focused on the material things of life. From this, the question soon changed from "How could I...?" to "How could I not...?" Faced with truth, Jeff could not refuse God's beckoning to put his focus back on Him. For nearly a week, he struggled with this, having not the slightest clue of how or when this would transpire, only knowing it would. And so it happened that Jeff received a God-appointed phone call from a woman wanting to buy a company. Within four months, this woman took over his company, purchased for the price of one dollar. Today, Jeff continues to thank God for His leading, for the fulfilling work and purpose He has given him and His faithfulness in making all of this possible by opening the right doors. Jeff continues to be driven by the massive amount of opportunity of spreading God's Word and the resulting promise of growth for the ministry...to the ends of the earth!

3 Program 1: Planned Acts of Christian Kindness (P.A.C.K. ) Program We offer a free Christian outreach program called Planned Acts of Christian Kindness (P.A.C.K.) to churches, groups and individuals. Our P.A.C.K. program provides instructions and ideas, along with follow-up support for every follower of Christ to become an effective evangelist through unassuming acts of kindness. Bible Giveaway P.A.C.K. Event at a Men s Prison in Africa Rose Giveaway P.A.C.K. Event for Mother s Day Free Hot Chocolate at a Christmas Parade P.A.C.K. Event Testimonials... "It is unbelievable! Our first P.A.C.K. youth party left a great impact within our suburb. We discovered that most young people in our suburb do not have basic computer skills. Therefore, I donated my old computer and an old laptop and challenged them to come for computer training every Friday. But, before the training, we always start with fellowship and reading the word of God. Then, we offer the opportunity to accept Jesus and be a part of the P.A.C.K. program in Africa! P.A.C.K. is a Godly vision - within two months, we have turned our suburb upside down with P.A.C.K. activities." Rephinus, Africa "Earlier this month, we had a free car wash for two hours on a Saturday afternoon. A woman that came to the car wash received a P.A.C.K. card when she left. The next day, she came to our morning church service and gave her life to Christ. Praise the Lord!" Pastor Paul, Wisconsin Program Impact Churches and Groups downloaded 210 our P.A.C.K. Outreach Program Hundreds of thousands of lives were touched around the world in 48 states in the United States and in 32 countries!

4 Program 2: Water Tower Project The Facts... Approximately 23,000 children die every year in Uganda from unsanitary drinking water. To obtain safe drinking water, many children walk several miles every day before and after school. Often, children do not even attend school because they spend the day collecting water for their families. Major sources of water for most people are bacteria-infected swamps. Using this water leads to deadly water-borne diseases, such as typhoid and cholera. There is Hope... These water towers provide a safe, clean and convenient source of water for the villages in Uganda. To have a tower that provides clean water is a huge blessing for them. When a village has a water tower, the children are able to spend their days in school, gaining an education instead of walking several miles to gather water from the river and bring it back to their home and school. An education impacts their families for generations to come. Testimonials... Project Impact In Africa, we say WATER IS LIFE. When you give water, specifically clean water, to the people, it s like giving them life. Rev. Celestine Uganda, Africa 24 water towers (two per month) were built this year in Uganda, impacting thousands of lives with the love of Jesus. I will forever be grateful for the accessible, clean, safe and abundant water. Maybe you too are thankful for such blessings. Ruth Nambowa Uganda, Africa 96 local villagers were hired and compensated for building the water towers.»this encourages self sustainability and pride/respect of ownership!
