WELCOME AND ANNOUNCEMENTS PRELUDE: Variations on O Day of Rest and Gladness CALL TO WORSHIP (Ezekiel 20:12, ESV) Rev. Bryan Bult arr. Dr. Bill Bates + HYMN: O Day of Rest and Gladness AURELIA O day of rest and gladness, O day of joy and light, O balm of care and sadness, most beautiful, most bright, On you the high and lowly, through ages joined in tune, Sing Holy, holy, holy to the great God triune. On you, at the creation, the light first had its birth; On you, for our salvation, Christ rose from depths of earth; On you our Lord, victorious, the Spirit sent from heav n; And thus on you, most glorious, a triple light was giv n. Today on weary nations the heav nly manna falls; To holy convocations the silver trumpet calls, Where gospel light is glowing with pure and radiant beams, And living water flowing with soul-refreshing streams. New graces ever gaining from this our day of rest, We reach the rest remaining to spirits of the blest. To Holy Ghost be praises, to Father, and to Son; The church her voice upraises to you, blest Three in One. + PRAYER OF INVOCATION + HYMN: We Praise You, O God, Our Redeemer, Creator KREMSER Trinity Hymnal, no. 97, stanzas 1-2 We praise you, O God, our Redeemer, Creator; In grateful devotion our tribute we bring. We lay it before you, we kneel and adore you; We bless your holy name, glad praises we sing. We worship you, God of our fathers, we bless you; Through life s storm and tempest our Guide you have been. When perils o ertake us, escape you will make us, And with your help, O Lord, our battles we win. CHILDREN S SERMON: God's Gracious Reward Children s Catechism #26 Q. Here may the wretched sons of want exhaustless riches find; Riches above what earth can grant and lasting as the mind. Here the Redeemer s welcome voice spreads heav nly peace around; And life and everlasting joys attend the blissful sound. O may these heav nly pages be my ever dear delight; And still new beauties may I see, and still increasing light. Divine Instructor, gracious Lord, O be forever near; Teach me to love your sacred Word, and view my Savior there. BEES Trinity Hymnal, no. 586, stanzas 1,2,5 and 6 Take my life, and let it be consecrated, Lord, to thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands, and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet, and let them be swift and beautiful for thee. Take my will, and make it thine; it shall be no longer mine. Take my heart, it is thine own; it shall be thy royal throne. Take my love; my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure-store. Take my self, and I will be ever, only, all for thee. + BENEDICTION + CONGREGATIONAL RESPONSE May the Peace (Benediction) May the peace of God our heav nly Father, And the grace of Christ the risen Son, And the fellowship of God the Spirit Keep our hearts and minds within his love.
