This is a new beginning for our chapter as this is the first rally with our new name and logo as shown in this newsletter and the cake provided by Jan Erickson. The members present had a GREAT time getting together and visiting. Dinner on Sunday evening was a wonderful bar-b-que meal supplied and cooked by Tommy Watters of RV Insurance Solutions, LLC. Tommy did all of the preparation of the meal on his special smoker/bar-b-que rigged trailer under the close & constant supervision of Kristi who provided excellent consulting services to Tommy as to how he should handle the cooking operation. Monday, October 23rd morning activities began with breakfast followed by the First Timer s Meeting. We were fortunate to have a number of first timers in attendance and they are: 1

The First Timers meeting was held with the Board Members and our new members were welcomed to our chapter. After the First Timers meeting there was a Board meeting to discuss the business matters related to operation of the chapter. Later in the morning the ladies enjoyed a craft session in which Tressa Williams showed and assisted those in attendance with making necklaces. At 5pm all enjoyed having a nice relaxed cocktail party with fellow members serving as bar tenders. At 6pm we enjoyed a lovely catered dinner for all members. After dinner President Jan introduced the group to a new game of the PRIZE IS RIGHT in which four contestants were called to the front and given the opportunity to guess the suggested retail price of an item. The member that guessed closest to the actual price of the item won the item and the right to spin the CASH PRIZE WHEEL for additional prize money. Several pictures of the participants and winners are included later in this newsletter. On Tuesday, October 24th the golfers were up early for a 7am breakfast but due to inclement weather they delayed golf game until Wednesday. Members attended a really neat luncheon at the Roadhouse Grill in downtown Durant. After another nice cocktail hour the group enjoyed a catered dinner. After dinner everyone was entertained by a group of musicians that played a wide variety of country music that all enjoyed listening to while many enjoyed taking the opportunity to dance. Wednesday, October 25th started off with catered breakfast and coffee. At 9:30am a caravan of members departed for a private tour of Endangered Ark Foundation s Elephant Sanctuary in Hugo, OK. while the golfers headed to the golf course First, the caravan stopped at Angie s Circus City Diner for an early lunch and then on to the sanctuary where members were able to observe these majestic animals up close and some were even able to feed the elephants. At one point during tour the group watched as the caregivers trimmed one animal s toenails. Following the tour the caravan continued on to Under God s Big Top Mt. Olivet Cemetery where they explored the circus cemetery there in Hugo, OK. The day ended with a visit to the Frisco Depot Museum also in Hugo. At dinner Dale Clark announced the winners of the golf tournament played earlier in the day. On Thursday, October 26th, all enjoyed breakfast and the General Business meeting. Later in the afternoon all enjoyed an ice cream social and a catered dinner. Following dinner the group was entertained with tunes and dancing music provided by D.J. Donnie. Our upcoming rallies for 2018 are planned as follow: 4/30-5/4 at Buckhorn RV Resort in Kerrville, TX 8/19-24 at By The Lake RV Resort in Ardmore, OK 10/15-18 Tyler Oaks RV Park in Tyler, TX.
