Enter this Church not as a stranger, but as a guest of God. May the blessings of God rest upon you, both in your coming in and your going out. We are delighted to have you in worship. We ask that you please sign the Fellowship Pad at the end of the pew. For your convenience, we have a warm and loving nursery adjacent to the sanctuary, complete with an available paging system. We also have a Cry Room at the back of the Sanctuary (near the usher s table) on the pulpit side with windows and a speaker so that you can see and hear the service. If you have any questions or need literature regarding the life of Bethany Presbyterian Church, please visit the Welcome Center, located next to the sanctuary. Please turn off cell phones before worship. Thank you. *Indicates all who are able, please stand. The Property Team extends a special Thank you to Roger Cox and Jean Roemer for their help in cleanup during the water emergency on Wednesday, July 2. It s summer at Family Promise! Here are two opportunities to assist homeless children and their families during the summer months: 1. Our guests will be offered the opportunity to go swimming, but need swimsuits. We re accepting donations of gently-used (and new) swimwear for children of all ages; we ll take beach towels and swimmies, too! Or, consider donating a gift card to buy swimwear for a hard-to-fit kid or for a parent. 2. With kids out of school, it can be hard for a single parent to do the things they need to do that will help them move forward in their search for housing. Family Promise is looking for teen and adult babysitting volunteers to take charge of the child(ren) in one family while their parent goes to an appointment. Babysitting would be on an as-needed basis, during the daytime hours at the Family Promise Crafton House while staff is on-site. If you can help with either of these opportunities or need more information, please call Laura Vincenti at 412-921-2916 or lvincenti@familypromiseswpa.org.
WOMEN S BREAKFAST GATHERINGS Meet at the new Panera restaurant in Bridgeville this Wednesday morning at 7:00 AM. Grab your coffee/tea, etc. and look for Melany Hamilton. She will provide a brief but substantial devotional time and help us to bless and be blessed as we return to the middle of everything. The Fellowship of Prayer had their monthly meeting this past Wednesday. The prayer list has been updated. Please see Carolyn Garretson in the Welcome Center for your new prayer list. PW Fundraiser: PW is hosting a fundraiser with That s My Pan, a variety of personalized pan and assorted items. All proceeds will go to the mission Bethany Helping Hands. Stop by the display table in the Welcome Center. These make a wonderful gift for your favorite baker/cook. PW Summer Mission Project PW will still be accepting donations through the end of July of the following items to make weekly lunches for 100 children at The South Hills Interfaith Ministries. Please use the box by the nursery to donate: Creamy Peanut Butter, Grape Jam, Small bags of chips or pretzels, cookies, zip lock sandwich bags, drink straws, and money to purchase bread and fruit. Thank you to all of those who have helped with this project. Malawi Host Families Needed: The International Partnership of Pittsburgh Presbytery, formerly known as the Malawi Partnership, is hosting a visit from brothers and sisters in Malawi and South Sudan this summer and needs host families, from approximately July 23 thru July 30. It is an incredible and blessed experience when you open your home and heart to a fellow disciple in Christ. If you can host part of all of this time or would just like additional information, please contact Carl Suppo at 412-496-9507 or by email at cj.suppo@gmail.com. If you have any photos you think might possibly be of interest to place in our upcoming 200 year Bicentennial book please identify them and drop them off at the office with your name so they can be returned. Thank you.
*The Prayer of Confession Lord, we come before You running fast; You slow us down. We come with the world s shouts in our ears; You ask us to hear Your echoes in our hearts. We come with our own agenda; You beckon us to follow Your vision. We come with the weight of our sins; You invite us into the lightness of Your grace. We come within the gray fog of routine or the darkness of despair; You lead us to the Light of the World. In silence and repentance we wait for You Amen. *The Assurance of Pardon *The Response He is Lord He is Lord, He is Lord! He is risen from the dead and He is Lord!
