Paul, The Apostle It was exciting Sunday evening (April 15) to see so many of our congregation supporting the community showing of the movie, Paul, The Apostle. The theater (ABCinema) was full of viewers from the Decatur Church of God. We were blessed. Dr. Robert J. Brink Senior Pastor Jamie Conkling Worship Arts Pastor Jerry Mitchel Pastor of Visitation Beau Butcher Youth Director Stacy Krull Director of Children s Ministries Preschool Director Interim Day Care Director Nancy Krick Office Manager Notary While the film was not a full Biblical account of the life of Paul, it gave a credible presentation of the man s Roman imprisonment, suffering for Christ, and his outstanding love for Christ and the Gospel. There were many significant teaching moments in the movie with Paul, Luke, and Priscilla and Aquila. Two of the many outstanding themes of the evening were the evidence of Paul s integrity, and perseverance. He was committed to following Jesus and living out the principles that he had been taught. Regardless of the choices of fleshly and carnal believers, the abuse of the systems of the day, and the human suffering, Paul chose faithfulness. His character and his committed selection to follow Christ was a beacon of hope to the early church and remains for us today a model of Christian discipleship. A special thank you is extended to our two anonymous donors who enabled us as a congregation to buy out the theater for two showings of the film. May God grant you his blessing for the blessing that you gave to us. As a Witness for Christ, Pastor Brink

MISSIONARY OF THE MONTH DAN AND SHERYL INGLE - NEPAL Dear Decatur Church Family, Dan and I want to thank you for your generous gifts for the continued work in Nepal. It seems that each day we are confronted with more opportunities to get involved in the lives of broken and hurting people. On our own this would all be overwhelming. But, Praise God for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds toward men! Oh, that Jesus will become famous in this place that desperately needs His healing and life! We love you and are so thankful for your partnership. This month we covet your prayers as we are applying for our visa renewal to allow us to stay for 1 more year. Also, during the next few weeks we will be all-hands-on-deck as we host several Youth Camps and Leaders Trainings. Some exciting and possibly exhausting few weeks! We continue to be amazed at the goodness and mercy of our Lord as he provides for us and the children in our care. May He remember your sacrifice and meet all of your needs! These words have been an encouragement to me recently Psalm 82:3-4 Defend the cause of the weak and fatherless; maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed. Rescue the weak and needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked. Psalm 40:5 Many, O Lord my God, are the wonders you have done. The things you planned for us no one can recount to you; were I to speak and tell of them, they would be too many to declare. For the King and his Kingdom! Love, Sheryl and Dan April seemed as busy as March was for The Purpose Youth Group! On Sunday, April 15th, the youth were able to attend a free showing of the movie Paul, Apostle of Christ at ABCinema here in town. They and their leaders enjoyed the movie and are grateful for the opportunity to have attended at no cost to them. Some of the young men in the youth group attended the annual Men's Wild Game Night dinner and seemed to enjoy that! In Mid-April, a new 12 week lesson series began during Wednesday evenings on the tools necessary in any Christian's tool box. The youth will be planning a fun outing, likely for putt putt in early May. Graduation Sunday will take place on June 3 rd for those graduating from high school and college. Please be sure to congratulate them and pray for these graduates as they continue to achieve high success. Want to stay connected with what's happening in our youth group? We're now on Facebook: The Purpose Youth Group. Check us out, like our posts, and share our posts to get the word out about what we're doing!
