ADULT VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PSIA MEET IN MARCH By Laura Hubert Surovic Adults interested in supporting PSIA should contact me about volunteering for the District Meet to be held at the Atonement Academy on Saturday, March 12, 2011. Last year the Atonement Academy had approximately 150 entries and we expect more this year. If we have 200 entries, we will need at least 90 volunteers and probably more than that! Please consider helping, especially if you have a special expertise in writing/english or speech. We are hoping to recruit some college speech students to help judge our numerous speech contests but we will still need adult volunteers from the schools. I can furnish a script for each contest for those willing to be contest directors. Graders are also needed for written tests (Art Memory, Music Memory, etc.) and multiple choice tests. Lastly, hall monitors will also be needed. I am hopeful that a number of parents will assist with the grading of multiple choice tests. Some of our high school students can also grade the multiple choice tests or be hall monitors for us. What a great way to earn community service hours and be a super advertisement for the school! If you know of a parishioner whom you feel would be helpful, please invite them to contact me. I know we have a wealth of talented people that would make excellent judges for a variety of events in our midst. Please consider volunteering a couple of hours on that Saturday to make our school s academic meet a great experience for all the students involved. Please contact me with questions/suggestions: Laura Hubert Surovic PSIA District 9AA Director (210) 452-3443 (cell)
