Introduction to the Make Jesus Culture Conference 1 7 Mountains of Culture: Francis Schaeffer envisioned a world where the Gospel shaped all realms of culture through the Christlikeness, Character, and Creativity of Spirit-filled believers. By the end of two weeks, we ll equip thousands of culture creators around the world to make the kind of culture Jesus himself lauds: a culture that s more loving, that makes peace, that reciprocates kindness, that controls itself, and lives out joy. We ll do that by refining your craft, inspiring you with rich thought, and coaching you on what it means to let the art do the talking. We ll also make sure that you can empower others to do the same. 2 Go to Make Jesus Culture Conference to see our LIVE conference outline for all speakers and topics, as well as any FAQ s. We gave each day a theme, and each speaker s work fits into each day s theme.
THE PROJECTS Following the Conference, we ll collaborate on several projects as well as fund existing projects with YouVersion, Garden City, The Worship Ministry Catalyst, ACT International, Life for the Innocent & more. 1 We have put MORE time and energy into the aftermath of the Conference than into the event itself. We desire to help local churches find their flavor. What do we mean? Picture yourself with a local church in the deep jungles of Uganda. As in many other churches, the creativity in this setting may very well be limited to the singing of Hillsong songs. Having these global songs to help bring the Big C church together is a blessing, however, there is something in this scenario that lacks the true cultivation of both heart and culture. However, if the people of Africa were equipped to sing, shape, write, or craft African spirituals to glorify Jesus songs that are familiar to the African voice and heritage the spirit of the local church changes significantly. We hear God s kingdom creativity in and through Africa. 2 We, as believers, can often tend to eclipse the local church s creative voice rather than equip it. At the Make Jesus Conference, we want to walk alongside churches and help equip them to produce their own culturally enriching innovation, rather than consume creativity. Our conference will mobilize projects in visual art, writing, music, film, performance, invention, technology, business, education, healthcare, and more in order to help the local church stir up local innovation. We cultivate, curate, and capture creativity that uniquely engages cultural contexts; thus bringing attention to God s kingdom work through local churches.

THE PLAN FROM HERE TO BE GENEROUS We plan to make more and better Jesus-following culture creators who then teach others to make Jesus culture. We ll help distribute resources to make both possible: this means more songs, more novels, more films, more sculptures, more courses, more business, more paintings, more technology, more partnerships, and more resources that lift up Jesus in the beautiful and the good and the true. 1 Partnerships We are giving networks away to help the LOCAL CHURCH YouVersion We have developed an exclusive content curator partnership with YouVersion. This enables us to turn all local creativity beneficial to the local church into bible studies seen by over two hundred and eighty four million users (and growing). It gives people a chance to help in the most meaningful way possible equipping people to read Scripture while also bringing attention to their own projects. Submit Your Work Now. Garden City Garden City has developed production and publication networks, recording studios, and other resources within creative hubs such as Nashville, L.A., Seattle, NYC, Memphis, etc. Garden City gives those in the local church the opportunity to develop their church-beneficial idea through the help of our innovators at 1/5 th the industry norm. A.C.T. has partnered with this Conference in order to commission art that grows directly out of the circles created in the aftermath of this event. In addition, all donations given above and beyond ticket sales will go through A.C.T. International s 501(c3) status, and will provide Conference attendees a tax deduction. 2 The Market Place Giving software away to help the LOCAL CHURCH. As an Internet-based software, The Marketplace connects creative individuals in close time zones and zip codes to gather together in community clusters. The Marketplace creates a hub where Christians share their work and develop local innovative projects within and between churches. 3 Circles Those designing this software assume many local innovators don t have the budget to release their idea. The Marketplace starts grassroots creativity. It connects local creatives to resources, production, marketing, etc., in order to aid those in the local church with global reserves. We work alongside churches to release CIRCLES in their context. Learn More. These circles cluster people together who consider how to edify their own church and marketplace with gospel solutions that lead to greater human flourishing. 4 Collaborations We give to the least of these. Life For The Innocent (L.F.T.I.) True creativity should always serve the least of these. Life for the Innocent aids in the rescue of over fifteen hundred children each year from human trafficking. They renew rescued children in local churches and then adopt them into forever families. A great portion of our Conference proceeds will go to LFTI to rescue those caught in human trafficking. We are also using some of the proceeds in our collaboration project. We are seeking creative contributions from our global attendees. Contributions will serve our innovative community project in manner that will benefit the LFTI cause even further. Learn More how we re inviting your creative contributions.
