P A G E 2 NEWCOMERS LONGTIMERS WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Doc Stewart NL President 1993-1994 Doxiene Doc Stewart joined Newcomers/ Longtimers in 1988. She was president for the 1993-1994 term. Since then, she s been busy!. The following is a smidgen of her happenings: Ed and I bought a 34 ft. Airstream Legacy Low Profile motor home at the Lake, sold both of our condos and enjoyed traveling from the Mississippi River to the West Coast for about 3 years, using a process of elimination to determine where we wanted to permanently live. We settled on an Adult Gated Community, on Dove Mountain, in Marana (a suburb of Tucson). We are usually 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix during the summer. We have a wonderful monsoon season in late summer and early fall, with triple rainbows and breathtaking lightening shows. We have two children; our son, Lee is now 67 years old and our daughter, Linda is 62 years old. Lee has one daughter, Cassandra, 14, and Linda had two daughters, Danielle deceased at 30 and Alexis, 29. My son and family live in Des Moines. My daughter, Linda and her two rescue cats, Sami and Skooter, live with me. Her daughter, Alexis, resides in Phoenix. Ed and I were married for 65 years, shy just 4 days. He passed away at 85 years of age, on May 11, 2013. I'm 86 now, but God has taken very good care of me. With the help of my "therapy" cat, Beau (he's a gentleman and a lover), I do pretty well. He's a male, Blue Point Siamese, and disgustingly smarter than I am! Well, that brings you pretty much up todate. The sad part...i miss so many of my wonderful friends from the Lake. In fact, most have passed away now. Ruby Vaughan passed away a short while ago. Sharon Hatter and I are still in touch. Sharon lives in Montgomery, Texas. I still hear from Joan Franklin, who lives in St. Peters, MO Love and hugs to all!! N E W S & V I E W S

After you make a reservation for a Newcomers/Longtimers event, you are responsible for payment under any circumstances, unless you cancel prior to Sunday evening before the event. This requires you to call the event chairperson. In the event you do not cancel as stated above, you will be billed by the N/L Treasurer. These guidelines are in our N/L By-Laws - Article IV. Activities (B). This by-law also states that if payment is not made within 30 days, you will no longer be listed for all functions and not permitted to attend future events until payment is made. The Executive Board on Dec. 8, 2016 agreed that this will be enforced by all event chairpersons. N/L is required by the venue to pay for all reservations made for the event.
