The Order of Worship March 20, 2011 10:10 AM To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest; to all who mourn and long for comfort; to all who struggle and desire victory, to all who sin and need a Savior; to all who are strangers and want fellowship; to all who hunger and thirst after righteousness; and to whoever will come - this church opens wide her doors and offers her welcome in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome Prelude *Call to Worship Rev. David Rea Minister: Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! For from Him and through Him and to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. All: Amen! Blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Romans 11:33, 36; Revelation 7:12 *Hymns Praise to the Lord, the Almighty! LOBE DEN HERREN Praise to the Lord, the Almighty, the King of creation! O my soul, praise him for he is thy health and salvation! All ye who hear, now to his temple draw near, Join me in glad adoration. Praise to the Lord, who o er all things so wondrously reigneth, Shelters thee under his wings, yea, so gently sustaineth! Hast thou not seen how thy desires e er have been Granted in what he ordaineth? Praise to the Lord! O let all that is in me adore him! All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before him! Let the Amen sound from his people again; Gladly forever adore him. O Father, You are Sovereign ST. THEODULPH O Father, You are sovereign in all the worlds You made; Your mighty Word was spoken, and light and life obeyed. Your voice commands the seasons and bounds the ocean s shore, Sets stars within their courses and stills the tempests roar. O Father, You are sovereign in all affairs of man; No powers of death or darkness can thwart Your perfect plan. All chance and change transcending, supreme in time and space, You hold your trusting children secure in Your embrace. O Father, You are sovereign! We see You dimly now, But soon before Your triumph earth s every knee shall bow. With this glad hope before us our faith springs forth anew: Our Sovereign Lord and Savior, we trust and worship You!

*Prayer of Invocation and Adoration Rev. Ronnie Rowe Confession of Faith Westminster Shorter Catechism, questions 99 & 102 Minister: How does God direct us to pray? All: The whole word of God, but especially the Lord s prayer, which Christ taught His disciples, directs our prayers. Minister: For what do we pray in the second request? All: In the second request (your kingdom come) we pray that Satan s kingdom may be destroyed, that the kingdom of grace may be advanced, with ourselves and others brought into and kept in it, and that the kingdom of glory may come quickly. Song of Praise Forever Settled in the Heavens GIFT OF LOVE Forever settled in the heav ns, thy word, O Lord shall firmly stand; Thy faithfulness shall never fail; the earth abides at thy command. Thy word and works unmoved remain, thine ev ry purpose to fulfill; All things are thine and thee obey; and all as servants wait thy will. I should have perished in my woe had not I loved thy law divine; That law I never can forget; O save me, Lord, for I am thine. The wicked would destroy my soul, but in thy truth is refuge sure; Exceeding broad is thy command, and in perfection shall endure. Public Confession of Sin Minister: Let us confess our sins before our righteous and holy God. Lord Jesus Christ, surely You have borne my griefs and carried my sorrows; yet I have considered You stricken by God, and afflicted. But You were pierced through for my transgressions; You were crushed for my iniquities; the chastening for my well-being was upon You; and by Your scourging I am healed. Like a sheep I have gone astray, I have turned to my own way; but the Lord has caused my iniquity to fall on You, my blessed Savior. Private Confession of Sin Assurance of Pardon I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes and be careful to obey my rules. You shall be my people, and I will be your God. Ezekiel 36:24-28 -2-

Intercessory and Offertory Prayer Ruling Elder, Mr. Wes Boyd Musical Offering *Scripture Ephesians 6:10-13 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Sermon An Unseen War Rev. David Rea *Hymn of Response My Hope is Built on Nothing Less SOLID ROCK My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus' name. Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand! All other ground is sinking sand! When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace; In ev'ry high and stormy gale my anchor holds within the veil. Chorus When he shall come with trumpet sound, O may I then in him be found; Dressed in his righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne. Chorus Words of Institution Rev. Ronnie Rowe The Lord s Table All those who trust in Christ alone for their salvation, are baptized, and belong to a Bible believing church are invited to partake of the Lord s Supper together, feeding on the grace of God by faith. If you have not put your trust in Christ, please allow the elements to pass you by and take this opportunity to meditate on the meaning of the Gospel. A word to parents: Baptized children are invited to the table after they have made a profession of faith and been received as communing members by the Session of the church to which their parents belong. Please hold the bread, and we will partake together. Please drink the cup as you receive it. The outer two rings are wine, and the inner ring is grape juice. -3-

During the bread Jesus, I Come SLEEPER THOMPSON Out of my bondage, sorrow, and night, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come; Into Thy freedom, gladness, and light, Jesus, I come to Thee; Out of my sickness, into Thy health, out of my wanting and into Thy wealth, Out of my sin and into Thyself, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of my shameful failure and loss, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come; Into the glorious gain of Thy cross, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of earth s sorrows into Thy balm, out of life s storms and into Thy calm, Out of distress into jubilant psalm, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of unrest and arrogant pride, Jesus, I come; Jesus, I come. Into Thy blessed will to abide, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of myself to dwell in Thy love, Out of despair into raptures above, Upward forever on wings like a dove, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of the fear and dread of the tomb, Jesus, I come, Jesus, I come; Into the joy and light of Thy home, Jesus, I come to Thee. Out of the depths of ruin untold, into the peace of Thy sheltering fold, Ever Thy glorious face to behold, Jesus, I come to Thee. Prayer of Thanksgiving During the cup Instrumental *Closing Hymn Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah CWM RHONDDA Guide me, O Thou great Jehovah, pilgrim through this barren land; I am weak, but Thou art mighty, hold me with Thy pow'rful hand. Bread of heaven, Bread of heaven, feed me till I want no more; Feed me till I want no more. Open now the crystal fountain, whence the healing stream doth flow; Let the fire and cloudy pillar lead me all my journey through. Strong Deliverer, strong Deliverer, be Thou still my strength and shield; Be Thou still my strength and shield. *Benediction When I tread the verge of Jordan, bid my anxious fears subside; Bear me thro' the swelling current, land me safe on Canaan's side. Songs and praises, songs and praises, I will ever give to Thee; I will ever give to Thee. Minister: May grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus, our Lord. 2 Peter 1:2-4-
