This Week in our Parish What is Christ Renews His Parish? "Christ Renews His Parish" is a spiritual renewal process which calls together the members of the parish - priests, religious, laity - in order to experience personal conversion and Christian community in the environment of their own parish. It is completely oriented to the parish in order to give both the individual and the parish an opportunity for renewal and growth in the spiritual life. It is led by those who have experienced the retreat. It was developed in 1969 and has been experienced by hundreds of parishes across the country. Who may attend? Anyone 21 years or older, who resides within the parish boundaries, who is registered in the parish, or who works for the parish is invited to attend. Over 60 children participated! The camp was led by college students Aidan Werth, Will Sutherland (a seminarian!) Becca Hoiser, and Julia Fassero. This year, the children learned about the Luminous Mysteries of the rosary, attended daily Mass, and confession. The week also included lots of fun crafts, outdoor games, water balloon toss, and on Friday afternoon the Prairie Village Fire Department came to provide a 'shower' to cool off the children! A special THANK YOU to all those who volunteered during the day, donated lunches, and hosted dinners and housing for the Totus Tuus team! A huge thank you to the St. Ann Knights of Columbus for hosting, donating, and grilling hot dogs for our Tutus Tuus picnic! The Women's Club would like to thank everyone for their ongoing support of the Farmers Market. Ah Lee Mar, our farmer, is very appreciative of the support and kind words she has received each week. Yellow peppers, potatoes, green tomatoes, zucchini, kale and squash will be among some of the produce she will be selling in the next few weeks. Stop by on Sunday between 9:30 am and 12:00 pm to buy her delicious food and maybe try something new like kohlrabi! See you on Sunday! Bake Off Winners! Help the Hungry St. Ann serves every 4th Monday of the month and consistently serves more than any other organization volunteering at the food kitchen. Last month we served 297 guests. Our next opportunity to serve our hungry guests at the food kitchen in Kansas City, Kansas is this Monday, June 25th. We need boneless hams (they will be sliced at the food kitchen), as well as au gratin potatoes (3 boxes to a pan), and fresh and canned fruit. Your donations of these items would be greatly appreciated, as would your offer to come and help serve! Bring donations to the north parking lot between 8:30 and 10 am on Monday. If you have questions, or need a ride, please call Rosie Bohan at 913-722-5109.
