Central Alabama Emmaus Community the fourth day newsletter October 2010, vol 1 A MESSAGE FROM WALK #133 LAY DIRECTOR It was six years ago, a few weeks before my original Walk, that the LORD gave me my life verse Philippians 1:6 which says, He who began a good work in you will not complete it until the day of Christ. You see, I was one of those that thought she needed it the least. I had already had an encounter with Christ and thought that was it I had arrived. Nonetheless, after God got my attention with Phil. 1:6, I went to check this Emmaus thing out still thinking, There can t be more! Little did I know about the whole process of Sanctification, and after coming home time and time again through the years, Phil 1:6 unfolded in my mind and understanding. He has something He desires to do in me/you and through me/you every day on this Earth until I/we see Him face to face! This revelation has left me longing to meet with my Heavenly Father daily and has given me desire and purpose to go out and witness and minister in the name of Jesus! Walk #74 was the beginning of an amazing work in my life in many ways. First, it was a beautiful eye opener to the body of Christ and how love can be shared. It has given me hope, in that, the church really can move forward in unity with one spirit and purpose. Every time I have been privileged to serve at Emmaus I have been renewed with hope and strength to carry on in my 4 th Days! Serving at Emmaus has also allowed me to experience firsthand God does not call the equipped, He equips the called! And last, I have had the privilege to meet many, many brothers and sisters in Christ I love so dearly and wish I could see more often! I truly look forward to an eternity of sharing and serving Christ with you! As Walk #133 approaches, join me in praying that the LORD will meet each pilgrim and team member right where we are. That our hearts will truly burn with passion for the Risen Lord! And therefore, we will return with desire to please God above all men and allow our Father to use our created life to the fullest measure! The Open Door Many times when you hear a knock upon your door You will go and open it to see and to explore Are they asking me to buy or maybe try their wares? Or do they simply want from me a little time and care? Would you answer the door if you heard a knock? Would you run and hide or see if you turned the lock? The shades are pulled and no one can see inside Go about your daily life keeping up the stride. Sometimes when you re out with friends and you tell a little lie Does it just seem natural to you or do you wonder why? Why did I want to tell a lie when the truth would be just right? Why do I feel so guilty I thought with all my might? We cannot run and hide from the One who sees it all He knows what you are thinking before you ever call. He saw you when on bended knee you asked Him to come in He waited for the open door to your heart that He could win. Jesus stands at your hearts door and gives a gentle knock Won t you let Him come inside? Please don t turn the lock. He has His special love to give so open up your door Show Him that you love Him now and forever more. ~Tennies 2010 Walk Dates to Remember Women s Walk #133 Oct 20 - Oct 23 Wendy Rajan - Lay Director Mike Densmore - Spiritual Director Elmore/Tallassee Cluster Men s Walk #134 Oct 27 - Oct 30 Charles Stover - Lay Director Jim Dannelly - Spiritual Director Selma Cluster For additional Emmaus and Chrysalis information and updates, periodically refer to our website at www.caew.org.
