A P P E A R A N C E S : JOHN 20:19 (NIV) On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!"

JOHN 20:19 (NIV) On the evening of that first day of the week, when the A P P E A R A N C E S : disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" JOHN 14:27 (NIV) Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

A P P E A R A N C E S :

A P P E A R A N C E S : JOHN 20:20 (NIV) After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

A P P E A R A N C E S : FEAR FULL JOY Jesus appeared and spoke PEACE!

JOHN 20:24-25 (NIV) A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas Now Thomas (called Didymus), one of the Twelve, was not with the disciples when Jesus came. 25 So the other disciples told him, "We have seen the Lord!" But he said to them, "Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe it."

So, what is it about doubt that can make it good or bad? Doubt can quickly get in the way of faith. When doubt is allowed to rule, faith is clogged up. But faith seems to grow out of doubt. Certainty doesn t make room for faith - doubt does. So maybe what I need is flexible doubt that can yield to faith and trust after being awakened. GARY STANLEY AFTER THE PASSION

JOHN 20:26-27 (NIV) A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!" 27 Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe."

JOHN 20:28-29 (NIV) A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas Thomas said to him, "My Lord and my God!" 29 Then Jesus told him, "Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

A P P E A R A N C E S : DOUBT BELIEF - to Thomas Jesus appeared and spoke FAITH!

A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas - to Peter

JOHN 21:1-3 (NIV) A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas - to Peter Afterward Jesus appeared again to his disciples, by the Sea of Tiberias. It happened this way: 2 Simon Peter, Thomas (called Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together. 3 "I'm going out to fish," Simon Peter told them, and they said, "We'll go with you." So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing.

JOHN 21:15-17 (NIV) When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas - to Peter "Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." 16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." 17 The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?" Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my sheep."

A P P E A R A N C E S : - to Thomas SHAME CONFIDENCE Jesus appeared and spoke GRACE! - to Peter

FEAR JOY DOUBT BELIEF SHAME CONFIDENCE

FEAR JOY DOUBT BELIEF SHAME CONFIDENCE JOHN 20:30-31 (NIV) Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
