Central Alabama Emmaus Community the 4th day newsletter March 13, 2018 A MESSAGE FROM WALK #192 As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him. When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him. They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us? Luke 24:13-32 The two disciples were walking along discussing the events of the past several days when they were approached by another man. The third man continued on the journey with the other two. The two men shared with the stranger about Jesus and when they arrived in Emmaus, they invited him to stay with them. I often wonder how many times we take time to share Jesus with a stranger. Do we invite a stranger to join us in our daily affairs? If Jesus approached us would we recognize Him? Are we inviting Jesus into our home? Is our hearts burning within us as we talk with Jesus and as we read the scripture? Women s Walk #192 Lay Director Background Support Elmore Cluster Times To Remember Wednesday 7pm Send-Off Friday 7pm Candlelight Saturday 7am Serenade Saturday 4pm Closing As we prepare for this week, we are inviting Jesus to walk with us. I pray that our hearts are set on fire and burning within us as we travel the Emmaus Road once again. We will meet pilgrims along the way that have been entrusted to us that we will walk with, talk with, worship with, and most importantly, share Jesus with. As we break bread together, my prayer is that our eyes will be open, we will see the face of Jesus, and we all will experience Him in a fresh new way. May the Holy Spirit pour down upon us during the upcoming 72 hours so that a great revival spreads across this land. A MESSAGE FROM WALK #192 SPIRITUAL DIRECTOR As I ponder my Emmaus experience, I realize most of my God Moments have taken place at Camp Alamisco while attending a Walk to Emmaus. I recall CAEW #38 as if it was yesterday. Not knowing what to expect, I decided that nothing could kill me in a single day and if it was that bad, I would slip away during the night. I am very sure my table leader thought I was the least likely to return. Could God use someone like me? God does not always call the equipped but He is faithful to equip those that are called. God has so richly blessed my family and me through our Emmaus experience. I am so blessed with the opportunity to serve God as the Spiritual Director on Walk #192. What joy and blessings I have received while praying for the team and for these pilgrims. What a pleasure to serve with these Spiritual Directors, as they were influential in my calling into the ministry. I challenge each of you that are part of the CAEW community to join us in praying daily for this team and pilgrims. May each of you, the Emmaus Community, Conference Room team, the background team and the pilgrims of Walk #192 enjoy God s Grace and spiritual blessings as we seek a closer relationship with our Risen Lord. 2018 Walk Dates Women s Walk #192 Angi Rhymes Elmore Cluster March 14-17 Men's Walk #193 Ted McConnell Millbrook April 18-21 Girl s Chrysalis Flight #71 Molly Cross May 10-12 Men s Walk #194 Charlie Goldman Lake Martin August 1-4 Women s Walk #195 Jamie Brown Selma August 22-25 Women s Walk #196 Helena Britton Chambers/Lee September 12-15 De Colores, David Waldrop with them Sign Up For Emmaus Prayer Vigils To sign up for a prayer vigil for Emmaus Walks locally and around the world go to: http://www.3dayol.org click on the walk number on the schedule and look for sign up information. NEW PILGRIM ONLINE APPLICATION The CAEC board is always looking for ways to better serve the community and encourage the growth of our Emmaus community. We now have an easier way of submitting a pilgrim application. The new Emmaus Online Application is now available at www.caew.org. The Emmaus paper application is still available on the web site and may also continue to be used. The new Emmaus Online Application was put into effect by the Emmaus Board at the first of January, 2018. The new applications may be submitted for processing online with the reservation fee of $25 being mailed to the P.O. box listed on the form to complete the application process. This new Emmaus Online application will allow for the registration process to have more precise information and hopefully speed up the application process for both the sponsors and pilgrims. Please note the reservation fee is still required, but it is not necessary for you to mail a copy of the application in with the fee. Just write the name of your pilgrim in the memo section on the bottom of the check. So, fill the application out online, press the submit key, then place your $25 check in the mail to P.O. 241571, Montgomery, AL 36124 to complete the online application process. We continue to research online payment possibilities that would include collecting the reservation fee in the online process to better serve the needs of the community.
