On August 24th, Steve Kerbel will lead Friday evening service after our 6:00 p.m. dinner. On Saturday night, August 25th, we will host a Havdalah service and a movie, preceded by pizza and beer beginning at 6:30. It should be a nice weekend. We would love to have you join us. We are excited to have Rabbi Richard White coming to lead our High Holiday services this year. Services will be held on Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, so please review the schedule for dates and times of services. There will also be our usual Break-The-Fast meal after the evening service on Yom Kippur. There is a small charge for the meal. The services and times are as follows: Rosh Hashanah Eve service (Sept. 9th): 7:00 p.m. Rosh Hashanah Morning (Sept. 10th) : 9:00 a.m. Tashlich at Boat Launch: 1:30 p.m. 1st Day of Rosh Hashanah Evening: 7:00 p.m. 2nd Day Rosh Hashanah: 9:00 a.m. Kol Nidre (Sept. 18th) : 6:30 p.m. Yom Kippur Morning (Sept. 19th): 9:00 a.m. Yom Kippur Afternoon: 5:15 p.m. Neilah: 6:30 p.m. Blowing of the Shofar: 7:45 p.m. Break-the-Fast to Follow Services on September 19 th As a reminder, if you are behind in paying dues, please make arrangements to be current before the holidays. You can contact either Susan Tilghman or Shari Miller to work out a payment schedule. We look forward to seeing everyone at High Holiday services. Being together at this time of the year is a big part of what makes the holidays so meaningful. No tickets will be mailed out this year, but our office administrator, Julie Thompsen, will have a list of members in good standing and their guests so please check in with her when you enter. Established 1926 There are many ways to acknowledge your loved ones at Beth Israel. Consider a leaf on our Tree of Life, displayed in the lobby. This is a wonderful way to commemorate a special event or to honor or remember a special person. The cost of a leaf is $500. You may also wish to consider purchasing a Yahrzeit Memorial Plaque for your loved one. The cost is $360 and will be displayed in our Sanctuary. Or maybe you'd like to purchase a chair for the social hall in the honor/memory of a loved one. The cost for a chair is $50. Please contact Julie at the Synagogue Office and she'll be happy to assist you with your tribute.
