Thanksgiving Baskets & Jesse Tree Applica ons Please give to our Thanksgiving Baskets Fund for families in need. Dona ons can be placed in the envelopes located in the pews and placed in the collec on basket. We hope to supply 50 baskets to the community this year. Volunteers are needed to help distribute Thanksgiving baskets at the church on Wednesday, November 15 and Thursday, November 16 from 9am-1pm. Please call the parish office if you can help. Applica ons are also available for our Jesse Tree Christmas gi ministry. Parishioners in need can come by the parish office and complete an applica on for their children. Parish Fall Fes val Dona ons Needed Our parish Fall Fes val is set for next Saturday, November 11th at 6:00pm. Thank you to all those who have already volunteered to help during the fes val. We are looking forward to a fun-filled evening of fellowship, food, games, entertainment, and more. Members of the Youth Group will be collec ng monetary dona ons a er masses this weekend to help cover the costs of the fes val. The fes val serves as a fundraiser for our youth group & parish, as well as a fun event for our parish & community. Thank you for your generosity. CCD News for Parents Our fall fes val will be held on Saturday, November 11th at 6:00pm. Please send dona ons of individually wrapped treats to be used as prizes for our game booths (*No hard candies, please. They are a choking hazard). Students can bring their treats to their teachers or to the CCD office on Sunday mornings. Thank you! Trail Life USA Program All boys and young men ages 5-17 are invited to par cipate in the Trail Life Program here at Sacred Heart. Trail Life will meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30pm in the parish hall. 7th Grade Voca ons Essay Contest The St. John Vianney Voca ons Ministry of Savannah and Augusta and the Southern Cross have announced the topic ques on for the 2017 Voca ons Essay Contest. This year s topic for the 300 to 400 word essay will be: What is your favorite memory of a priest or religious and how could that make you consider a voca on? The essay contest is open to 7th grade students in parish religious educa on classes. A total of six prizes will be presented to 7th graders for the best essays in each of the classes. Prizes are as follows: 1st place: $250, 2nd Place $125, 3rd Place $75. In addi on, honorable men- on awards will be presented to students who submi ed the best essays in their school and/or faith forma on program, but did not place. Men s Discernment Retreat The Voca ons Office of the Diocese of Savannah will sponsor a discernment retreat for men ages 18 to 40 from Friday, December 29 th to Saturday, December 30 th at Li le Ocmulgee State Park & Lodge in Helena, GA (south of Dublin). Please register at www.diosav.org/voca ons and click on the retreat icon. There is no cost for the retreat and registra on will close Christmas day.
