The 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time Saturday and Sunday September 3-4, 2016 www.stjudecatholic.org...anyone of you who does not renounce all your possessions cannot be my disciple (Luke 14:25-33) Dear Friends, Happy Labor Day! While life for many people continues to be a struggle toward recovery, we move ahead into this new school year. I thank you again for the support that you have shown by your prayers and concern for those who have suffered, the material goods that you have donated, your financial support, and the time and energy that you have given in so many ways. We will continue to keep you as updated as possible on our flood relief efforts in our parish and throughout our diocese. Recently, our Knights of Columbus went out to Saint Margaret Parish in Albany and prepared hot meals for parishioners there. My good friend, Father Jamin David, the pastor there, has shared with me that an estimated 70% of people in the area experienced flooding. Thank you to our K.C. s and, again, to our Men s Club too for all that you have done. We held open house for our school last Sunday, and it went very well. My thanks to our principal, Mrs. Tina Schexnayder, and our entire faculty and staff for a great day! Next weekend we welcome Bishop Muench at the 11:30am Mass for the celebration of the Fiftieth (50th) Anniversary of Saint Jude Parish. I hope you can join us for the Mass and the reception that will follow in the Parish Activity Center. My thanks to Charmaine and our 50th Anniversary Committee for their hard work in planning! I look forward to seeing you there. Have a great week! Sincerely, Fr. Trey Nelson, Pastor

This 4-H Club is open to anyone in St. Jude Parish. Please share this invitation with your friends. Forget what you think you know about 4-H. It's not just agricultural programs, although we do still offer those. There are programs for a multitude of interests including: photography, robotics, knitting, running, computers, cooking, and nutrition. There is even a performing arts program for those interested in band, choir and theater. As always, 4-Hhelps students understand the importance of good citizenship and leadership skills. As a participant in 4-H Cougars, you are able to attend the summer camp at Grant Walker. Here, your children make lifetime memories while continuing to explore and learn. Curiosity is rewarded around every corner at 4-H Camp. You can just ask some of our students who attended this summer how much fun they had. This year, we will be holding our 4-H meetings in the St. Jude Parish Hall. This will make it more convenient for everyone to attend. We will walk over children from extension to the St. Jude Parish Hall. Our meetings will still be held on Tuesdays. Please note the time and place change to meetings: St. Jude Parish Hall after school until 4:15. The meeting dates are September 13, October 11, January 10, February 14, March 14, April 11 and May 9.
