A PUBLICATION OF The Stockton Scottish Rite Volume 71/12 Valley of Stockton, California December 2015 From the Desk of the Personal Representative, Ill. Patrick O Hern, 33 The Holiday season is upon us and I would like to wish all of our Brothers, families, and friends a festive and safe holiday. It is time to enjoy your family and at the same time remember those who are less fortunate than ourselves. We are closing in on the end of another year with many accomplishments and memories behind us. In the near future we have several events which should provide a great opportunity for socialization and fellowship of our members. Our December meeting will bring a wonderful evening of entertainment and food. We will be treated to a group of talented Ukulele players who will play and sing before the meeting. Your Personal Representative, General Secretary, Director and Member of the board for the California Language Centers recently attended meetings in Visalia hosted by the Ill. Frank Loui 33 degree, S.G.I.G. of California. Topics included investments, future fundraising and operations which will affect every valley in the state. We were able to take away valuable tools which should be of benefit in the future. In remembrance I would like to reflect on the loss of our departed brother Robert Snyder. I would like to thank all members of our lodges who attended his Masonic Service on November 20, 2015. Bob was a great Scottish Rite Mason and was a devoted Chairman of our Language board. He worked tirelessly for the children and he will be missed by all who knew him. All of our thoughts and prayers go out to his family. Patrick 1

Stockton Scottish Rite Recruitment Incentive Program. In keeping with the Scottish Rite Valley Membership Achievement Program we have instituted this program in an effort to recruit new members and recognize our members who actively seek new members. It is our hope that our upcoming reunions will be filled with new brothers. Stockton Scottish Rite Recruitment Incentive Program The Stockton Scottish Rite is offering an incentive program directed at our existing members successfully recruiting new members. This policy is effective beginning May 1, 2015 and expires, unless renewed by the VMAP committee, April 30, 2016. Any member recruiting three new members and is the top line signer on the application/petition in a consecutive 12 month period is entitled to free dues for the immediately upcoming dues period if the following conditions are met. 1. The three new members must complete the Scottish Rite Degrees. 2. The members must be in good standing and all dues must be paid. 3. The recruiting member must be the top line signer for all three new members. 4. The recruiting member must be a member in good standing of the Stockton Scottish Rite. 5. For the purposes of establishing the consecutive 12 month period the application date will be determinative. However, the application will not be included in the three member count until the new member has received his degrees. In the event a new member does not complete his degrees during the consecutive 12 month period the incentive may be carried over one additional 12 month period allowing the candidate an opportunity to complete his degrees. Upon completion the recruiting member will be awarded the free dues in the upcoming year. 6. The following administrative members are not eligible to participate in the incentive program. a. Personal Representative b. General Secretary c. Treasurer d. Assistants to the Personal Representative Additional Incentive to New Members For the twelve month period beginning May 1, 2015 and ending April 30, 2016 the application fees will be reduced to $100.00 for new members. This program may be reviewed annually and renewed upon approval of the Valley Membership Achievement Committee. 3
