Pastor Paul s Post In order to help organize the preaching schedule I wanted to try a series that I think will be helpful as well as interesting. Each Sunday will be a different take on the theme from different parts of the Bible and life experiences. The goal is to find relief from the stresses of life. Discover how Jesus re-energized his followers after his resurrection; how Jesus lightens our loads and manages our stress; the pitfalls of a hurried lifestyle; how to choose better over busy ; how to fill our personal fuel gauges; and practical ways to help mothers. April 30th: Lighten Your Load Matthew 11:28-30 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. May 7th: Slowing Down Acts 2:46 Day by day, as they spent much time together in the temple, they broke bread at home and ate their food with glad and generous hearts May 14th, Mother's Day!: What Moms Need and How You Can Help Ephesians 6:2 Honor your father and mother. Which is the first commandment with a promise. May 21st: Choosing What Matters Most: Luke 10:42 Few things are needed, indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. Bequests Have the Power to Bless Future Generations Gifts that come from wills can play a critical part in continuing any church s mission and can help it meet people s needs through ministry now and in future generations. But according to a 2015 Harris Poll survey for Rocket Lawyer, 64 percent of Americans don t have a will. It is never too early to write a will; it can only be too late. If you die without a will, the laws of your state will determine how your estate is distributed, and no assets will be given to any charitable organization, no matter how important that organization was to you during your lifetime. If you do have a will, it should be reviewed from time to time to mirror the changes that may take place in your life. Make a bequest to the church in your will is a simple effective way to speak into the future of your faith community. It costs you nothing during your lifetime, and you don t have to be wealthy to bless the church with a gift in your will. Small amounts can be put to good use right away, or invested so they grow in the years to come. Mark your Calendars!
