Aquí en esta parroquia tenemos un ministro hispano muy grande. Tenemos Misa en español todos los sábados a las 6PM y también tenemos Misa a las 5:30PM todos los jueves y clases de catecismo después. Ofrecemos estas clases y pláticas en español. Celebramos todos los sacramentos (bautismos, primeras comuniones, matrimonios, todo) y también bendiciones como quinceañeras en español. Hazte parte de nuestra comunidad hispana muy vivaz! Clases de bautismo. Llame a la oficina para saber cuando será la próxima plática. Estamos muy contentos de celebrar los bautismos aquí en español. Para bautizar aquí tienes que 1) obtener y llenar los papeles, notando que la forma para los padrinos debe ser firmada por su propio párroco. 2) asistir a la clase de bautismo que tenemos aquí en español, el próximo será sábado, el 28 de abril, a la 1PM aquí en la escuela. La clase es obligatoria para los padres del niño(a) y para los padrinos también. 3) Llamar a la oficina, 575-763-6947, para hacer una cita con el Padre Simón o el Diácono Juan. En la cita vamos a trabajar con usted para fijar la fecha del bautizo; las fechas son flexibles. Changes for Mass Intentions in 2018 There have been changes made to the process of offering Masses in our parish for 2018. The names of the Mass intentions will no longer be mentioned aloud in Mass, but of course they are published in the bulletin. What truly matters is that the sacrifice of the most Holy Mass is being offered for that individual or intention! The same Mass and the same power of the One Sacrifice of Jesus is there regardless of whether the intention is mentioned out loud. The number of Mass intentions placed on Sundays per parishioner has also been limited to 3 to ensure fair distribution. The number of Masses for one specific person or intention has also been limited to 5 per year. Please understand that these changes are being made in the interest of fairness for all our parishioners. If you have any questions, please call the church office at (575)763-6947. FOR LENT TIME WE HAVE CHANGED THE SCHEDULE OF OUR LGBTQ DISCUSSION GROUP TO ONLY THE FIRST MONDAY OF THE MONTH, IN THE SCHOOL ROOM 1. The group will not meet again until Monday May 7th at 6:30 PM. Once again Father Marin gets to the heart of the matter, as evidenced in his book on building bridges between the Catholic Church and the LGBT community. Jesus prayed with deep passion that we might be one, and I believe that Building a Bridge goes a long way in helping to answer that prayer. Too often members of the LGBT community have been seen as other when in fact together we are brothers and sisters, mothers and fathers, sons and daughters. As in any family, we are going to have our differences, but that does not make us any less family. This courageous work is necessary reading for all who wish to build up the Christian community and to give witness to the Gospel message of inclusion. John C. Wester, Archbishop of Santa Fe Archdiocese of Santa Fe Annual Catholic Appeal His Mercy Endures Forever... Our Parish has to give $37,000 to support the work of the whole archdiocese. So far $21,247 has been pledged and $14,052 paid. Thank you to those who have given!!! But this means our current shortfall is approximately $15,753 which will come out of our Parish savings if people don t contribute. Also, of over 1,200 families in our Parish, so far only 77(!) families have participated or even pledged anything. That is not good and it does reflect poorly on our parish Quote of the Week If you are what you should be, you will set the whole world ablaze! St. Catherine of Siena Church League Softball Season Starting! It s that time again for church league softball. If you are interested in playing for the church softball team, please call the church office during office hours and sign up. Our team won the championship two years ago and we can do it again! The earlier we can get a team together, the earlier we can start practice and prepare for the year! BAPTISM CLASS The next baptism class in English will be held on Tuesday, April 24th at 6:30PM in the school. Remember, this class is mandatory for both parents and Godparents of the child being baptized. The food pantry operates every Saturday of the month. Anyone interested in volunteering, please come at 8:30 am! We are also very much in need of volunteers every Friday morning to help prepare for the food pantry on Saturday. This is a truly beautiful ministry, an essential part of living the Gospel and really helping many in need here in our community. families in this area.
