Welcome to the Catholic Community of SAINT MARK THE EVANGELIST A Catholic Community of Caring Since 1981 Serving Londonderry, Hudson & Windham - New Hampshire Fr. Mike Zgonc Deacon Tom Lavallee Cathy Kinnon Brandon Sargent Rebeccah Nusbaum Claudia Dominguez Allan Fernald Artie Carew Richard Dussault Church and Parish Center (603) 432-8711 One South Road, Londonderry, NH 03053 Pastor Permanent Deacon Religious Education Director Evangelist/Youth Minister RCIA Coordinator/Youth Minister Director of First Impressions Music Director Music Director Custodian MASS SCHEDULE Saturday @ 5:00 PM Sunday @ 8:00 AM 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM Monday through Thursday @ 9:00 AM Welcome Home! We, as a Parish Family, are so glad you are here! As sharers of the one baptism & the one Spirit of the Risen Christ, we have come together as the Parish Community of St. Mark the Evangelist to proclaim our identity as the People of God. The Eucharist is the center of our life and work together. Through the one bread, we become the one body of Christ, a living sacrifice of praise. In our worship of God, the Author of life and holiness, we proclaim our hope in the life of Christ s Resurrection; we open our hearts and minds to the Spirit of God dwelling in our midst. In our work, together, we seek to enable our children to grow in the wisdom and knowledge of God; to accompany our young sons and daughters on their journeys of discovery toward adulthood; to deepen our faith commitment through prayer & study; to be present to one another in the joys and sufferings, the victories and struggles of life; to give witness to the Gospel of justice and compassion to our hurting world. We welcome to our parish family all who share our Catholic faith & traditions & our search for God in all things. -Parish Mission Statement Facebook: stmarkslondonderry Twitter: @stmarksnh Website: www.stmarksnh.org

From your Pastor, Brothers and Sisters- This weekend, we reach the culmination of the Liturgical Year as we celebrate the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe! We have journeyed this past year as a parish community through the Scriptures and through life together and hopefully have each been nourished our relationship with Christ has been deepened as we continue that great quest to discover who Christ is, and where indeed He is found! Our faith tells us over and over again that faith is rather counter cultural everything we do what we truly believe goes against the grain a bit. We celebrate Christ the King today the God and Master that we have each been called to serve. Using this phrase, however, we can easily let our minds wander Kingship in our world is all about the power the prestige the Gold Crown the nice cars and possessions the latest wardrobe the fanciest and most expensive pets and guards who are dressed up and always stationed with swords!! How could we ever serve and love a King like that?? Would we ever be able to truly know him?? Would we feel that we were ever able to approach Him?? Would serving him just be as superficial as the clothes that he wears or the car that he drives?? Would that King truly care about you as his servant?? Or would you just be another number?? As Christians, we need to reverse our thinking that is NOT the King that we are called to serve with our lives Our God, Jesus Christ is RELATIONAL He is in our midst ALWAYS!! He is also in our midst and comes to us in a real way when we receive Him in the Eucharist He is not a God who lords it over us but one who is with us gently and humbly Our challenge is to RECOGNIZE Him not just in the sacrament not just as our God in heaven but in our day to day lives. 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you? This is Christ, brothers and sisters This is the King we are called to serve Lord, open our hearts and minds to recognize You in the lost the hungry the stranger the imprisoned those who this world would lead us to dismiss Help us to serve them with love, generosity, and compassion because we know that when we serve them we serve You. Amen Always in Christ, Fr Mike

Grace Within - Many Thanks!! Heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated in the Fall 2017 Session of Grace Within: our twelve wonderful participants, our facilitators Beth Maffattone, Jane Leonard and Becky Brown; Prayer Partner Coordinator Barbara Quandt and all the dedicated prayer partners; Celebration Dinner Committee members Arleen Potter, Christine Japy and Marie Lescarbeau and the many women who helped to make the dinner and the program such a success. Special thanks to Allan Fernald and Monique Savoie for the beautiful music presentation and to Jayne Zumgulus for the truly inspiring talk. We thank God for the many blessings He has bestowed upon our Grace Within Ministry and we look forward to continued growth and success. For more information about this ministry, please visit the church web site. Two Masses on Christmas Eve?? Some of you may have heard our Evangelist s Message from a couple weeks ago regarding Christmas Eve falling on the 4th Sunday of Advent this year. If not, you can check it out on our website, stmarksnh.org, and click the Faith Formation tab! For the rest of us, a friendly reminder: although Christmas Eve falls on a Sunday this year, attending a Christmas service does not fulfill our Sunday Obligation for the 4th Sunday of Advent. Our Mass schedule will remain the same for the weekend of the 23/24, with our Christmas liturgies beginning on Sunday afternoon (please see the schedule in the next column). Please join us as we complete the fullness of the Advent mysteries before we come together for the great feast of our Lord s Nativity. If you have any questions, please call the Parish Office at 432-8711. All Young Singers Welcome! If you are in grade K-12 and like to sing, we would like to invite you to join our 18th Annual Christmas Youth Choir! We will be singing in the Church at the 4:00 PM Mass on Christmas Eve.
