The most important Liturgical Seasons are Christmas and Easter! Other important seasons are Advent and Lent; to help us get ready for Christmas and Easter. Ordinary Time is the rest of time on the Liturgical Calendar. We started Ordinary Time the week after Epiphany. We went as far as the 6th week in Ordinary Time. Then we went into Lent. Now that the Easter Season is over, we resume Ordinary Time. The 7th week in Ordinary Time began the Monday after Pentecost. The Monday after Holy Trinity Sunday began the 8th week. The Monday after Corpus Christi Sunday began the 9th week. That is why we are now at the 10th week of Ordinary Time. We will run Ordinary Time through the end of the week after the Feast of Christ the King. Then the Liturgical Calendar will begin all over again with the 1st Sunday of Advent on December 2nd. (In anticipation Saturday evening December 1st). The color green of the mass vestment, like the green of the grass, reminds us that even though it is Ordinary Time, the time outside of Advent/Christmas and Lent/Easter, we should still be growing in faith and in our love for God and neighbor. May God help us to grow during Ordinary Time! May God continue to bless our journey of faith! Your Pastor and Spiritual Father, Father Ken O Hotto Baptism: Contact the parish office, ext. 32, to schedule a baptism. Baptisms are celebrated the 1st and 3rd weekends of the month. Baptism class is required for first time parents.

St. Bernard s Karenni Outreach St. Bernard s Karenni Outreach is a wonderful mission that is bringing many Karenni (Burmese) refugees in Saint Paul to the faith. St. Bernard s has become home to them. There are two parts to our outreach to the Karenni. We have a Missionary Intern Program. Under the direction of our RCIA director, seminarians from St. John Vianney Seminary and students from the University of St. Thomas have gone to the apartments of the Karenni to simply bring them the love of Jesus. This mission is bringing fruit already. In the last three years we had 37 adult baptisms during the Easter Vigils. The second part of our outreach is the one-refugee liaison staff members who tend to the service needs of the Karenni. Translation is an important part of the work as there are few Karenni translators to help with various matters in their lives. In the past 10 ½ months, we have helped individuals and families with over 2,200 requests for help including housing, health insurance and medical issues, Ramsey County paperwork/ issues, reading of mail, transportation issues, car insurance and other car related issues, and green card and naturalization issues. We are asking you to help us to continue this local mission. There will be a second collection for this purpose. Your generous help is appreciated. Thank you. Fr. Ivan Sant, Pastor - Church of St. Bernard, St. Paul Vacation Bible School is for children entering kindergarten through entering 6th grade and will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm beginning on Sunday, June 24th and concluding on Thursday, June 28th. The VBS committee needs more volunteers for this year's program, specifically a Games Coordinator (for all 5 nights) and crew leaders, which involves leading a group of 5 kids through each station. We ask that you prayerfully consider a donation of your time ranging from 1 to all 5 evenings. We are also asking for donations of food, crafts and money. Please see the tag board located in the gathering space for specific items. Please contact Mary in the parish office for more information. 2
