Where does the time go? July 2016 July for me means picnics, fireworks, longer days, and gorgeous weather well, as gorgeous as it gets in our little piece of Upstate New York. But it also brings with it the Fourth of July Independence Day. The birthday of our nation, and this year celebrates 240 years. That s two hundred and forty years of being Americans. And whether you were born here, or, like me, chose to become a citizen of this great nation, it is a day for celebration and pride in all our country represents. And speaking of pride, I have to mention this year s Flag Day event. The ceremony put on by our lodge at the Binghamton Mets NYSEG stadium was, as always, a complete success. I had multiple people come up to me and congratulate me and the lodge on the service. It is one of the highlights of the year, and I want to thank everyone involved for making it a success once again. There s a lot going on this month at the lodge! Road kill bingo has become a hit, and I encourage everyone to head to the lodge on the 13 th to find out what it s all about. We also have a barbecue on the 9 th, the monthly Veteran s Home visit, and a number of other events happening. Come on down to the lodge, and be part of The Little Lodge that Does Big Things! Fraternally yours, ~Leona Leona St. Clair lstevens5@stny.rr.com Cell 607-743-9810 Look throughout this newsletter for a membership number. It will look like this **999**. If it is your number, just come to the lodge bar and claim your Friday Night Dinner For One prize certificate. The winner must come in person and show his or her membership card to the bartender. Your prize must be claimed before the month has ended. That s all there is to it! You can then use it on any Friday Night.
