A Message from our Community Lay Director The Board is looking forward to seeing you at the Barre and Scotia Spring Renewal events. Two wonderful Lay Directors for the Fall Walks (who will be announced at the events) are hard at work assembling their teams and making plans for their first meetings. God is good! Before Easter I was reading a book by Ken Gire where he is talking about the thief on the cross forgiven by Jesus, and then Ken offers the following reflection on his (our) need for forgiveness. I found it very powerful and would like to share a portion of it with you: by Carla Snyder (Walk #84) For I too have stolen much. When I have gossiped, I have taken from another s reputation, and in the process robbed from my own. When I have raised my voice in anger, I have taken something away from peace. When I have hurt someone s feelings, I have taken something from that person s self-worth, something which might never be replaced, something for which I might never be able to make restitution. When I have spoken the truth, but not in love, I have stolen from your kingdom by pushing a soul not closer, but farther away from the borders of paradise. 2018-2019 Calendar April 10, 2018 On The Road Volume 2018 Number 2 mailed April 21, 2018 Spring Renewal Brunch, Hedding UMC, 40 Washington St, Barre VT 10:30am-2pm May 5, 2018 Spring Renewal Brunch, UMC, 201 N.
