The company of angels are praising thee on high, and we with all creation in chorus make reply. 3. The people of the Hebrews with psalms before thee went; our prayer and praise and anthems before thee we present. 4. Praise Hymn 398(MP) King of Kings King of kings and Lord of lords, glory Hallelujah King of kings and Lord of lords, glory Hallelujah Jesus, Prince of Peace, glory Hallelujah Jesus, Prince of Peace, glory Hallelujah From Gallows to Glory A meditation for Palm Sunday Reading The suffering and glory of the servant (Is 52: 7-10, Matt 16: 13-16, 21) CHOIR When I survey arr Archer When I survey the wondrous cross On which the Prince of glory died, My richest gain I count but loss, And pour contempt on all my pride. Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast, Save in the death of Christ my God! All the vain things that charm me most, I sacrifice them to His blood. See from His head, His hands, His feet, Sorrow and love flow mingled down! Did e er such love and sorrow meet, Or thorns compose so rich a crown? Were the whole realm of nature mine, That were a present far too small; Love so amazing, so divine, Demands my soul, my life, my all. Reading The triumphant entry into Jerusalem (Luke 19: 29-40) CHOIR A Palm Sunday Antiphon Morgan Hosanna to the Son of David. Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord. Hosanna. Thou that sitteth in the highest heavens. Hosanna in excelsis Deo! Readings The plot against Jesus (Luke 22: 1-4, 39-47 Mark 14; 53,57,58,61b-64) The Christ who suffered (Bonhoeffer) CHOIR God so loved the world arr Chilcott God so loved the world That he gave His only begotten Son That whosoever believeth in Him Should not perish but have everlasting life.
Praise Hymn 224(CH3) My song is love unknown My song is love unknown, my Saviour's love to me, love to the loveless shown that they might lovely be. O who am I that for my sake my Lord should take frail flesh and die? He came from his blest throne salvation to bestow, but men made strange, and none the longed-for Christ would know. But O my friend, my friend indeed, who at my need, his life did spend. Sometimes they strew his way, and his strong praises sing, resounding all the day hosannas to their King. Then "Crucify!" is all their breath, and for his death they thirst and cry. Why, what hath my Lord done? What makes this rage and spite? He made the lame to run, he gave the blind their sight. Sweet injuries! Yet they at these themselves displease, and 'gainst him rise. They rise, and needs will have my dear Lord made away; a murderer they save, the Prince of Life they slay. Yet steadfast he to suffering goes, that he his foes from thence might free. In life, no house, no home My Lord on earth might have; In death, no friendly tomb but what a stranger gave. What may I say? Heav n was his home But mine the tomb wherein he lay. Here might I stay and sing, no story so divine: never was love, dear King, never was grief like thine. This is my friend, in whose sweet praise I all my days could gladly spend. Readings The crucifixion and burial of Jesus (John 19: 17-19, 41-42) Crucified, dead and buried Turner
DUET Ave Verum Jenkins Ave, verum corpus natum ex Maria Virgine: vere passum, immolatum in cruce pro homine: cuius latus perforatum unda fluxit et sanguine: esto nobis praegustatum, in mortis examine. O clemens, O pie, O dulcis Jesu, Fili Mariae. Hail the true body, born of the Virgin Mary: You who truly suffered and were sacrificed on the cross for the sake of man. From whose pierced side flowed water and blood: Be a foretaste for us in the trial of death OFFERING (ORGAN) - Ich ruf' zu dir, Herr Jesu Christ (I call to Thee Lord Jesus Christ) JS Bach (Please stand as the Stewards bring the offering forward) Reading The resurrection (Mark 16: 1-6) CHOIR Love divine, all loves excelling Nicholson Love divine, all loves excelling, joy of heaven, to earth come down; fix in us thy humble dwelling; all thy faithful mercies crown! Jesus thou art all compassion, pure, unbounded love thou art; visit us with thy salvation; enter every trembling heart. Come, Almighty to deliver, let us all thy life receive; suddenly return and never, nevermore thy temples leave. Thee we would be always blessing, serve thee as thy hosts above, pray and praise thee without ceasing, glory in thy perfect love. Finish, then, thy new creation; pure and spotless let us be. Let us see thy great salvation perfectly restored in thee; changed from glory into glory, till in heaven we take our place, till we cast our crowns before thee, lost in wonder, love, and praise.

Mervyn & Raing McCullagh PRAYER UPDATE Give thanks for the incredible opportunities that Mervyn and Raing are privileged to share in in their work with NCCSL. Raing has just been with the healing of memories team and been listening to a series of harrowing stories of lives affected by war. Pray for all those, women and men, widows and married, affected by war and violence and that somehow they may find peace, reconciliation and hope. A number of interesting opportunities for partnership have emerged in recent weeks, and NCCSL has recruited some super new staff, pray that the General Secretary, Rev Ebenezer Joseph, Mervyn and the NCCSL staff would be able to develop these relationship and get and give the best out of these possible partnerships. Pray for the new projects getting of the ground with tea and rubber plantations communities, that NCCSL would assist in giving everyone the opportunity for fullness of life. Mervyn and Raing have had a whole series of small things happen them over the past few months, none of them are meaningful in themselves, but they are getting frustrated by the accumulation of things that are affecting their ability to get their work done well. Pray that they will know God s guiding hand in all they do. Pray especially for their health as both of them are currently down with flu (in the tropics!). Pray especially that they would both be full of God s love for each other and all those around them.
