Announcements Doorway Fellowship Begins Today Our Doorway Fellowship begins today at 9:15 a.m. in room A-268 (on the second floor). This is a great opportunity for you to connect with Pastor Mike Sproul and learn more about Tri-City. Topics from theology to fundamentalist history to church operation and more will be addressed. You can still join! Celebration of the Lord s Supper We will celebrate the Lord s Supper during the morning service today. At the end of the service, there will be a retiring offering for benevolence. Last Night of VBS Awana Begins Soon! Throughout the summer, kids have enjoyed learning about God at our Vacation Bible School. But summer is coming to an end, and tonight is the last night of VBS for 2017. However, with the school year comes Awana! There will be a Leaders Orientation Meeting at 5:00 p.m. next Sunday, August 20, in the Chapel (A-256). Want to be a part of this ministry? Join us at the meeting! Then on Sunday, August 27, Awana will resume with the clubs meeting from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Children three years old through eighth grade are invited to come grow in their knowledge of God, memorize Bible verses, and have a great time! Youth All-Nighter Teens, this Friday, August 18 is our Youth All-Nighter! We will have games, bowling, pizza, ice cream, and more. Pastor James Tilson from Northwest Valley Baptist Church will give the Gospel, so invite your unsaved friends! We will start at Tri-City at 9:00 p.m. and go to Amazing Jake s until 6:00 a.m. Cost is $36 per person. Questions? See Pastor Jason McDonnell (602-930-1918). Men s Prayer Breakfast This Saturday, August 19, at 8:00 a.m. is our monthly Men s Prayer Breakfast in the Fellowship Hall. Men, make a point of fellowshipping, praying, and developing Biblical goals for you, your family, and the church. Enjoy the breakfast for $3. Invite someone else to come with you! Learn Music this Fall with CFA! Thinking about picking up that instrument collecting dust in your closet? Maybe you re interested in learning to play hymns on the piano. The Chandler School of Fine Arts begins its fall term on Monday, August 21. Offering piano and voice as well as string, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments, CFA lessons are taught by highly qualified, professional instructors for students of all ages. Contact the CFA registration office for more information (480-245-7969).

Get Involved! Home Away from Home International Home Away from Home (HAH) International is an outreach ministry to foreign international students at ASU. Through HAH International we will have the chance to share our culture, our family, and our faith with students from all over the world without leaving home. If you would like to share the love of Christ with people you could not meet any other way, please prayerfully consider being a part of this new ministry opportunity. For more information, please visit the table in the lobby or contact Pastor Nathan Mestler (480-334-5078). Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival On Saturday, September 30, we will be holding our third annual Mid-Autumn Festival. This holiday is celebrated in many Southeast Asian countries and is similar to our Thanksgiving. Please begin praying for this wonderful outreach opportunity, that God would be preparing the hearts and minds of our community to hear the Gospel presentation and that He would use us for His honor and glory. Book of the Month The Stranger on the Road to Emmaus explains the greatest of Bible themes clearly and logically. Rather than focusing on one part and missing the whole the author chronologically binds together the entire text into one great universal drama, looking at events from the perspective of those who experienced history in the making. The results are sometimes comical, sometimes frightening but always true to the intent of the text. When you are done reading it, you may find yourself believing the Book like you never have before. Look for your copy in the TBC Bookstore today! Memorizing God's Word in 2017! My God, My Light Week Thirty-three: John 8:12 (NKJV) Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.

Care & Share Group Lesson Welcome Week of August 13, 2017 If you have ever gone camping, share a fun or interesting story that happened. Worship Psalm 31:1-5. Rejoice in God your Savior. Give Him all praise and glory! Share the burdens of those in your group. Take these moments to pray for the needs of the ones around you. Word Read Psalm 31:1-5. What is the source of David s confidence in his struggles? Why can David have this confidence? How can you have this same kind of confidence in God? Read Psalm 31:6-8. How does David describe his emotions of confidence in God? Why is David so ready to trust completely in God? How would you help a hurting person to apply these principles? Read Psalm 31:19-24. What is David s resolution for this dilemma of his enemies attacks? Why does David s love for God satisfy the hurt inflicted by those who hate him? How does your love for God help you to rightly respond to those who hate Him and you? Witness Remember to keep those around you in prayer. Keep your ears open for those hurting so you can speak truth and grace into their lives. Never forget that many need to understand the love of God and how it flows to them through you.
