PARISH SPOTLIGHT We shine the Parish Spotlight on an individual or group who has gone above and beyond for our parish community. This week we shine the spotlight on John Belford for his commitment helping to keep our Churches and Cemeteries in the best condition. John spent hours at Saint Mary s cemetery digging out location markers that needed to be removed and you can find him weekly at one of our Parish buildings working on lights or other tasks. If you see John please shine the spotlight on him for going above and beyond to ensure our buildings are looking their best. Janice Marie Ludlow was baptized and confirmed and welcomed into our Parish Family. Please pray for her continued growth in faith. PALM SUNDAY Next Sunday, March 25 th, is Palm Sunday. We will have the blessing of palms and the solemn procession of the congregation in the church at all weekend Masses. The procession symbolizes our sharing with the people of Jerusalem in joyfully acclaiming Christ our King. Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week. Please remember in your prayers the family of Mary Baker. May it comfort them to know the parish is thinking of them and praying for the Lord to comfort them during this sad time. JOHN 1:4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. INTS OF THE WEEK: March 19 - St. Joseph March 23 - St. Turibius of Mogrovejo FAMILIES AND THE GOSPEL John 12:20-33 - Relationships come with a price tag. We must be willing to entrust ourselves to another, to let go of our autonomy and die to our independence. It is in dying to our independence that we find interdependence with others. THOUGHT OF THE WEEK Lenten Thought: "If, by life rightly led, you wash away the mud that has been put on your heart, the Godlike beauty will again shine out in you. Lent is the time we are called to wash away that mud and replace it with the luster of God." St. Gregory of Nyssa (330-395), Cappadocian Father, Bishop, and mystic. Hailed from a remarkable family - both parents, his sister, and two brothers were canonized as saints. STEWARDSHIP REFLECTION You are like a grain of wheat. Keeping your time, talent, and treasure to yourself yields no harvest. With God s grace we can die to ourselves and bear fruit for His kingdom. When you live for others, the evangelizing mission of Jesus Christ is revealed. Is God calling you to be charitable in a specific way today?
