Here are the winners of the Carnival 2018 Grand Drawing: 2018 Ford Fusion Mark M Mlinar Charles Ave, Parma $4500 Shingled Roof (courtesy of Second-to-None Roofing) Ed Murphy Dorothy Ave, Parma $3500 worth of Gift Certificates Fr Christopher Cox $500 Seller s Appreciation Drawing Number Eight Ann Fuchs Bike Decorating Contest: Most Patriotic: Andy Zubricky Best Parma Theme: Brooklynn Franks Best Safety Forces Theme: Magdalen Lenahan As of last Sunday evening, total receipts for Carnival 2018 amounted to $302,000. (The first time we ever hit $300,000 and that s $25,000 ahead of last year!) We estimate expenses to be about $170,000. That means we made a profit of around $130,000! Wednesday through Friday the weather was great; that put us way ahead. Saturday and Sunday were a little hot and humid, but we still did very well. Overall, absolutely fantastic! Thank you to the Carnival 2018 Committee for a great job very well done: Mike Nowak, Chair, and division captains Tim Ungvarsky, Brian Raymont, Dom Pillin, Tom Weinreich, Tom Holzheimer, Rich Marrone, Jane Denton, Sean Brennan, Lynda Mackulin, Trace Althoff, Brenda Sutton, Chris & Kris Bentley, Jacob Maier, Joe Bonvissuto, Maria Barsa, Paul & Melissa Koenig and Sarah Stranko. Our first Carnival 2018 Meeting was last August; all of that advance work and planning came together last week, July 11 to 15. Thank you to all who worked this year s Carnival in front of and/or behind the scenes: parade marchers, those who bought/sold Raffle Tickets, ran booths, cooked and served food, served drinks, pleased children, dealt cards, did put-up and take-down work, and performed the hundred-and-one things that made Carnival 2018 such a great success. As promised, we are moving ahead on the projects Carnival 2018 will pay for: an all-concrete Charles Avenue parking lot/ playground, a new parish van, and completion of the servers sacristy renovation. So, what are the dates for Carnival 2019? Well, here they are: Wednesday to Sunday, July 10, 11, 12, 13, 14! Next Sunday, July 29, is a Fifth Sunday of the month. Our parish custom, for many years, has been to sponsor a second collection for the work of our St Vincent de Paul Society. Our SVdP, in your name, practices faithfully the corporal works of mercy: feeding the hungry, giving drink to the thirsty, and providing shelter for those with nowhere to go. Please help them in their work in next weekend s second collection.
