The daughter of Jairus seemed dead, and when Christ said that she was not dead but asleep, the people ridiculed Him - for such is the reaction of those who are narrow-minded and lacking in faith towards Christ or His followers. But He, taking the young girl by the hand, commanded her to arise and she arose without any hesitation or difficulty. Therefore we must not despair, either for ourselves or for others, even when the appearance of death which is of a spiritual nature has set in. We must never say: "For me, or for this or that person, nothing can be done." In such cases, a person can no longer count on human intervention; one must allow Christ alone to work in a soul which has been wounded by sin. One must ask Christ to come into their own house, but in a spiritual sense. Jairus brought Him into his house made of bricks and wood, but a person wounded by sin must bring Christ into the house of their soul. Also one must allow Christ to take them by the hand, as He took the hand of Jairus's daughter, so that the miracle of spiritual resurrection may take place.

Icon of the Blessed Virgin Mary Entrance into the Temple November 21, 2017 When Mary was presented, she was received by St. Zechariah, the father of St. John the Forerunner, as he was the High Priest at that time. He took her by the hand and led her into, not only the Holy Place, but into the Holy of Holies. This was the place that only the High Priest was to enter, and only on the Day of Atonement. The only explanation for this is that he was moved by the Spirit of God. Holodomor Commemoration and Program November 25th 1:30-3:30 pm Sponsored by UCC-MPC Winnipeg City Hall beginning at 1:30 pm with a joint memorial service (Panakhyda) in front of the Holodomor Monument. A short program to follow inside City Hall with a presentation by guest speaker Dr. Bohdan Klid of the Canadian Insitute of Ukrainian The Holodomor is the name given to the genocide Studies (University of Alberta) by famine that occurred in Ukraine from 1932 to 1933. As many as 10 million Ukrainians perished as victims of a man-made famine under Joseph Stalin s regime, with 25,000 dying each day at the peak of the famine. The name Holodomor is the Ukrainian word for "plague of hunger" or death inflicted by starvation derived from two words, holod starvation/famine and moryty to inflict death. Let us remember that this year Ukraine and the world will commemorate the 80th anniversary of the memory of the victims of the Holodmor Genocide of 1932-33. This tragic page remains an unhealed wound in the history of our people. The memory of millions of lost lives, the pain of hundreds of thousands of families, unites most of the citizens of Ukraine, who always on the fourth Saturday of November light a candle of remembrance and go to the memorial places in Kyiv and in their cities and villages. This memory actively contributes to social peace and understanding among people, united by a shared pain about the past and a hope for the future. As well, on the preceding Thursday at Oseredok, the following public talk will be held.
