From The Word of God Whole Bible Christian Community 7 The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether. 10 They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb. 11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; In keeping them there is great reward. The Word is Bread 53 So Jesus said to them, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in yourselves. 54 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. 55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink. 56 He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. 57 As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me, he also will live because of Me. 58 This is the bread which came down out of heaven; not as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live forever. (John 6:53-58 NASB95) Jesus tells us that we need to eat His flesh and drink His blood, but He is not talking about His physical body. He is speaking of God s Word, which is also Spirit and life (John 6:63). We eat and drink His body and blood by reading His Word and doing it. Whole-Bible Christians love to eat His flesh and drink His blood. It is manna from heaven; the Bread of Life. This booklet helps us by laying out a schedule where the first five books of the Bible (the Pentateuch) are split into weekly readings, along with sections of the first five books of the NT and other books. The reader can read every day, so that he or she can honor God s command to meditate on His Word all the time. By putting these types of schedules together, communities can stay unified in weekly reading and study of the whole of God s Word. This schedule is also the basis for mes- Book Zechariah 14 John 22 Ezekiel 48 John 22 Deuter 34 Deuter 34 Joshua 24 Romans 16 Revelation 22 Tabernacles, Booths, Nations 22:26-23:44 29:12-16 14:1-21 7 22:26-23:44 29:12-16 8:2-21 DATE 09/19 Thu 09/20 Fri 29 38:18-39:16 09/21 Sat 29:32-34 7:37-39 09/25 Wed 14:22-16:17 29:35-30:1 8:54-66 12:28-34 33:1-34:12 1:1-2:3 29:35-30:1 1:1-18 5 7 12:28-34 7 8 21:1-22:5 09/26 Thu 09/27 Fri Sabbath. It is not required to do things this way; it merely helps with study and unity. Why read the Pentateuch? The first reason is that it is the foundation for all the other books of the Bible. As a matter of fact, a better name for the entire Old Testament is the Foundational Testament. All the other books were compared to the Pentateuch in order to decide what went into the accepted cannon that we have now. The second reason comes from what Jesus says about them. 46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote about Me. 47 But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe My words? (John 5:46-47 NASB95) The third reason is that if you want to read a letter, it is more understandable if you start at the beginning. It is also easier to understand and implement the other books with a thorough knowledge of the first five. The fourth reason is because He tells us this is how we love Him. 9 Just as the Father has loved Me, I have also loved you; abide in My love. 10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father s commandments and abide in His love. (John 15:9-10 NASB95) The Pentateuch is called in Torah, meaning instruction. All the other books refer to the Torah explicitly or implicitly, and assume those who love Him have a knowledge and practice of Torah. But Torah includes all of the instructions given to us by our Papa for healthy living and long life and to please Him, and in- 2012 Bruce Scott Bertram Manna for Whole-Bible Christians 12/13 p. 2

cludes those in the New Testament. Torah, or God s instructions, are in all the books, yet the framework is set forth in the first five books initially. Torah helps us to keep our ways pure. 9 How can a young man keep his way pure? By keeping it according to Your word. 10 With all my heart I have sought You; Do not let me wander from Your commandments. 11 Your word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against You. (Psalm 119:9-11 NASB95) If we place God s Word in our hearts, we will be identified as wise and avoid slipping. 30 The mouth of the righteous utters wisdom, And his tongue speaks justice. 31 The law of his God is in his heart; His steps do not slip. (Psalm 37:30-31 NASB95) For the Lord our God says: 7 Listen to Me, you who know righteousness, A people in whose heart is My law; Do not fear the reproach of man, Nor be dismayed at their revilings. 8 For the moth will eat them like a garment, And the grub will eat them like wool. But My righteousness will be forever, And My salvation to all generations. (Isaiah 51:7-8 NASB95) 11 For this commandment which I command you today is not too difficult for you, nor is it out of reach. 12 It is not in heaven, that you should say, Who will go up to heaven for us to get it for us and make us hear it, that we may observe it? 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, that you should say, Who will cross 2012 Bruce Scott Bertram Manna for Whole-Bible Christians 12/13 p. 3 Trumpets, Day of Awakening Blast Book I Samuel 31 24 I Thess. 5 Revelation 22 Jeremiah 52 s 21 29:1-6 1:1-2:10 24 13 21 4:13-18 8-9 22 29:1-6 31:1-19(2-20) 11:17-19 DATE 09/05 Thu 09/06 Fri Remember days start the evening before, so Wed 09/04 evening is the start. If you follow this schedule you will know roughly where the teachings for the weekly meetings will come from, and you will have some background for them. Reading the section beforehand will also cause you to develop questions to ask, or the Spirit may reveal something for you to share with everyone. In this way body life is encouraged and reinforced as we build one another up in His Word. After all, each of us is a minister. We call the New Testament the s because a number of people, and we agree, feel that the impression given by the former name is that it replaces the Old. The New Testament is also not a covenant itself, although it refers to the new covenant given in Jeremiah 31. 31 Behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah, 32 not like the covenant which I made with their fathers in the day I 2012 Bruce Scott Bertram Manna for Whole-Bible Christians 12/13 p. 4

took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, although I was a husband to them, declares the Lord. 33 But this is the covenant which I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord, I will put My law within them, and on their heart I will write it; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 And they shall not teach again, each man his neighbor and each man his brother, saying, Know the Lord, for they shall all know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, declares the Lord, for I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more. The numbers after the book name are the number of chapters in that book. A transliteration is just a group of sounds in intended to help pronounce the. A translation gives the meaning of the name. When one of God s Festivals is celebrated (see Leviticus 23), there are additional scripture readings. These are in the charts on pages 25 through 30. Leap Year. Every once in a while a month is added to synchronize the lunar calendar (the one the Bible uses) with the solar calendar (the Roman one we normally use). But usually we have to add some of the shorter sections together because there are more sections than there are weeks in a solar year. These are marked with plus signs so you ll know to add them together. Changes and Additional Readings. These charts are just the framework and start of a reading schedule. Feel free to add readings of your own. We have already done some of that with the addition of a field for suggested readings. A Note column has been provided if needed also. If it seems good to us to modify the schedule for everyone with an additional reading, then we will include it on the next printed version of the chart. Read through the Bible in a year. Reading about three chapters a day and five on Saturday (23 per week) gets you through the Bible in a year. In the Notes column are chapters for the week to help you check your progress. We encourage you to read the whole thing, then read it again. And again. The first time through skip sections like genealogies if you want. The next time will be better, and the third time even more. Keep going. NOTE: Equal signs (=====) indicate a break for Festival readings on pages 25-30. Some notes have been added to help with this.
