HOLY TRINITY PARISH 2018-2019 PASTORAL PLAN GOAL 1. Work to maintain, support and refine the present ministries, activities and services of our parish community with an emphasis on education and faith formation for adults and youth in the parish. Objective: A. Encourage support and participation in Holy Trinity's efforts in education and faith formation for both adults and youth in the parish. These include, but are not limited to, RCIA, Fall and Spring adult education programs, Children's Liturgy of the Word, CCD, Vacation Bible School and Youth Ministry. B. Encourage participation in Holy Trinity's liturgical ministries such as adult choir, altar servers, cantors, extraordinary minister of communion, lectors, memorial choir and ushers. C. Encourage support and participation in Holy Trinity's services and outreach programs. These include, but are not limited to, Holy Trinity's bereavement group, community service programs, after-mass dinners, reception and coffee socials, movie nights, Christian Mothers, ecumenical organizations such as Ligonier's Association of Churches, His Passion Forever production, Pastoral Council, and the Prayer Shawl Ministry. GOAL 2. Improve communication within our parish community and with the larger Ligonier Valley community. Objective: A. Upgrade audio visual equipment in the church to help advertise and promote the good works that it does, thus encouraging participation in its ministries and furthering the evangelization process. B. Update directory of ministries and opportunities to serve in our parish for publication in Holy Trinity's weekly bulletin, on its website, its Facebook page and other relevant forms of social media. Micah Kozoil 6:30-8:00 - A NEW BIBLE STUDY TO COMMENCE Fr. Micah E. Kozoil, a newly retired priest of the Diocese of Greensburg, now living in Ligonier would like to begin a Bible Study on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 PM in the Church (Starting Wednesday, July 25, 2018) in the Atrium. This Bible Study will be very different than other Bible Studies you may have participated in the past. It will focus on the application of biblical parables from both the new and old testaments as they appear in the lectionary as well as random choices. We will learn how the Fathers of the Church used a variety of tools in seeking to understand how the Hebrew scribes approached the scriptures as well as how the early Church Fathers approached both understanding and opening the Word of God for all peoples. We will also include catechesis of our Catholic Faith as well. You should feel free to attend the classes as they appeal to you and/or how your schedule allows. You may find that there are elements in scripture that you may not have encountered before. Many times Catholics feel that they are unable to interpret the passages of scripture or have been taught from youth not to seek to interpret scriptures on their own. Many of the faithful have questions they are afraid to ask.
