All around us, we hear TV, radio, traffic, bells, beeps, whistles, children at play, and people talking. The list could go on and on, right? When Jesus moved among people, no doubt He heard the busy hum of human life around Him too. When He spoke, He wanted people to stop their busy lives and stop talking for a little while. That way, they could focus on His words and understand what He was saying. He wanted them to listen, just like He wants us to stop and listen. That way we can focus on the Word and understand the law and our need for salvation. We will understand the Gospel, God s salvation plan. Then, we can come to the Father in prayer and become children of God as the Spirit leads us.
