1 We Gather in the Lord s Name [STAND] A song of praise or joy will be sung.

Longing for light, we wait in darkness. Longing for truth, we turn to you. Make us your own, your holy people, Light for the world to see. Christ be our light! shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

Longing for peace, our world is troubled. Longing for hope, many despair. Your word alone has power to save us. Make us your living voice. Christ be our light! shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

Longing for food, many are hungry. Longing for water, many still thirst. Make us your bread, broken for others, Shared until all are fed. Christ be our light! shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

Longing for shelter, many are homeless, Longing for warmth, many are cold. Make us your building, sheltering others, Walls made of living stone. Christ be our light! shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

Many the gifts, many the people, Many the hearts that yearn to belong. Let us be servants to one another Making your kingdom come. Christ be our light! shine in our hearts, Shine through the darkness. Christ be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen. Grace and peace be with you and keep you in the love of Christ.

Silence. Heavenly Father, we have sinned in thought, word and deed, and have failed to do what we ought to have done. We are sorry and truly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ who died for us, forgive us all that is past and lead us in his way to walk as children of light. Amen.

Almighty God, who forgives all who truly repent, have mercy on you and set you free from sin, strengthen you in goodness and keep you in eternal life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

GLORIA IN EXCELSIS [STAND] Glory to God, glory to God Glory to the Father. To Him be glory for ever! Alleluia, Amen Alleluia, Amen

Glory to God, glory to God Son of the Father To Him be glory for ever! Alleluia, Amen Alleluia, Amen

Glory to God, glory to God Glory to the Spirit. To Him be glory for ever! Alleluia, Amen Alleluia, Amen

THE COLLECT OF THE DAY Let us pray

The proclamation of the word [SIT] AN OLD TESTAMENT READING or A NEW TESTAMENT READING The reader says: A reading from... Silence follows the reading. The reader will then say: This is the word of the Lord Thanks be to God.

Come into his presence singing Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia! x2 Come into his presence singing Jesus, our Light x2

THE GOSPEL The reader says: Listen to the gospel of Christ according to Saint Glory to you, O Lord. After the Gospel the reader says: This is the Gospel of the Lord. Praise to you, O Christ.

AN AFFIRMATION OF THE FAITH [STAND] I believe and trust in God the Father, who created all that is. I believe and trust in his Son Jesus Christ, who redeemed humankind. I believe and trust in his Holy Spirit, who gives life to the people of God. I believe and trust in one God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Amen.

The Intercession Kneel or sit for the prayers. Each prayer ends with

The Light of Christ has come into the world The Light of Christ has come into the world

Merciful Father, Accept these prayers for the sake of your Son, our Saviour Jesus Christ. Amen

The Peace The peace of the Lord be with you always. And also with you. A sign of peace will be exchanged.

In Christ alone my hope is found, he is my light, my strength, my song; this corner-stone, this solid ground firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace when fears are stilled, when strivings cease! my comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone - who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones he came to save: till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfiedfor ev'ry sin on him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground his body lay, light of the world by darkness slain: then bursting forth in glorious day up from the grave he rose again! And as he stands in victory sin's curse has lost its grip on me, for I am his and he is minebought with the precious blood of Christ.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the pow'r of Christ in me; from life's first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow'r of hell, no scheme of man, can ever pluck me from his hand; till he returns or calls me home, here in the pow'r of Christ I stand!

The Thanksgiving Blessed are you Lord God of All creation... It will become the Bread/Cup of Life Blessed be God, Blessed be God, Blessed be God, Forever Amen. Blessed be God, Blessed be God, Blessed be God, Forever Amen

The Lord be with you And also with you Lift up your hearts. We lift them to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. It is always right, wherever we are, to thank you and to praise you, God our Father and King for ever, through Jesus Christ, your Son.

[Through him you made us and the whole universe. When your Holy Spirit came to Mary, Jesus was born as one of us. He loved us so much that he died for us; on the first Easter Day you raised him to life; and death and evil were conquered for ever. At Pentecost, you gave the Holy Spirit, as Jesus promised, to help us to live as your children.]

So here on earth, with the angels and archangels and with everyone in heaven we praise your name and say: Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of power and might, Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. Hosanna in the highest.

Father in heaven, listen to the prayer we make in Jesus name; through the Holy Spirit s power, gentle as a dove, may this bread and this wine be for us Jesus body and blood. Father, we remember when Jesus had supper with his friends the night before he died, he took the bread;

he thanked you, broke it, gave it to his friends and said: Take this and eat it this is my body, given for you. Do this to remember me. After supper, Jesus took the cup of wine; he thanked you, gave it to his friends and said: All of you drink from this cup because this is my blood the new promise of God s love: Do this every time you drink it to remember me.

Together we remember that Jesus is always with us and say Christ has died. Christ is risen. Christ will come in glory.

Father, as we remember your Son, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross and rose again, we offer you these and all the gifts you freely give to us. Send your Holy Spirit to be with us and all who share bread and drink from this cup. Help us to trust you, bring us closer together and welcome us, with all your people, into Jesus glorious kingdom.

All honour and glory belong to you, Father, through Jesus, your Son, with the Holy Spirit: one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

As our Saviour taught us we boldly pray: Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen

6 The Communion The priest breaks the bread. We break this bread to share in the body of Christ. Though we are many, we are one body for we all share in one bread. Jesus, Lamb of God: have mercy on us. Jesus, bearer of our sins: have mercy on us. Jesus, redeemer of the world: give us your peace.

The priest invites us and says: Come, let us receive the body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, given for us, and feed on him in our hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God And His righteousness, And all these things shall be added unto you, Allelu, Alleluia! Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Allelu, Alleluia!

Man shall not live by bread alone, But by every word, That proceeds from the mouth of God. Allelu, Alleluia! Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Allelu, Alleluia!

Ask and it shall be opened unto you, Seek and you shall find, Knock and the door shall be opened unto you. Allelu, Alleluia! Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia, Allelu, Alleluia!

Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am God Be still and know that I am God I am the Lord that healeth you I am the Lord that healeth you I am the Lord that healeth you In You, O Lord, I put my trust In You, O Lord, I put my trust In You, O Lord, I put my trust.

7 The Sending Out Give thanks to the Lord for he is gracious: his love is everlasting. God of truth, we have seen with our eyes and touched with our hands the bread of life. Strengthen our faith that we may grow in love for you and for each other, through Jesus Christ, our risen Lord. Amen.

We are marching in the light of God, We are marching in the light of God, We are marching in the light of God, We are marching in the light of God, We are marching, marching, We are marching, Oh We are marching in the light of God. We are marching, marching, We are marching, Oh We are marching in the light of God.
