Creation / God's Character Fun Pack - Preschool Creation Lesson 7 God Made People to Live on the Earth; He Gave Each One Value and Worth Concepts Children Learn: God made people a little like himself. God wants us to talk to him! (He is relational). God thinks we're worth a lot! Supplies needed: Bible marked with verses Story Pictures, Globe from Lesson 6 Pocket Chart/Pocket pics Friends (Lesson 5) Girl with Food (Lesson 6) Playdough (People colors) Craft samples, see Activities and Crafts Prep: Pre-make a playdough man. Mark you bible with verses used in lesson. Print the b&w or color story pages. You can use the b&w pages and color them, or print color illustrated pages to use for the lesson. Make sample crafts. See Crafts and Activities pages for instructions. Key Verse: Genesis 1:27. Verses used in lesson: Gen.1:27, 29; 2 Cor. 1:3-4; Isaiah 46:4; Psalm 139:13-14. Verses used as reference: Genesis 1:26-2:22; Deut. 5:7 Let Me Do it Activity: Creation Pocket Chart and Review (Start this lesson with the pictures for Day 1-4 already in the Pocket Chart). We've been having lots of fun learning about all the things that God made, and learning about God too! Here's our chart with all the pictures of the things God made on the first 4 days. (Take the pictures out of each pocket as you ask the questions. Let children answer). What did God make on Day 1? RIght, he made the light. What did he make on Day 2? Excellent! He made the sky. On Day 3, what did God make? Very good. God made the land and seas, plants and trees. What did he make on Day 4? Yes! God made the sun, moon and stars on Day 4. Place the pictures for Day 5 and the animals on the table). Let's look at the pictures on the table. Can you find something that God made on day 5? (Let children find the fish and birds, and put them in the Day 5 pocket). Very good! Who can find what did God make on Day 6? Excellent! God made the animals on Day 6! (Let children find the animals and put them into the Day 6 pocket). Very good! Thank you all for helping me. (Hold up Adam and Eve pictures) But did you know that God also made something else on Day 6? God made the first man and woman! He made people! (Let children insert pictures). Then on Day 7, God rested! (Large Adam and Eve picture). I wonder how God made the people? First, God made the man. (Point to Adam). Let's listen to the rhyme and we'll find out. (Lay playdough man flat on table, hiding him by placing playdough on top). Out of the dust of the ground, God made the man. God knew what he was doing. He had a plan! God gave him life, by breathing into the man. Now he could walk and play, in the sea and the sand! God made a beautiful garden, and put the man there. That's where he could work, and give the plants care. Reshape flattened playdough man, and hold upright. Point to your head. Blow out, close to playdough man. Make playdough man move around. Show1/2 picture: Adam Point to leaves.

Preschool Creation Lesson 7 - God Made People, p.2 And the first man's name was Adam. God said, 'Adam's all alone. That's not good.' God would make him a helper. Do you think he could? God brought Adam the animals, for him to give names. I bet it was of fun, kind of like a new game! Let children answer. Hold some animals in one hand. (Some animals from Week 6). Let's play a new game! Let's pretend we're Adam! We get to make up new names for the animals! Let's say the real name of the animal first, then we'll make up a new silly name for each one. (Let children say the name of the animal, then think of a silly name as you hold each one up). Excellent! You all did a great job of helping me name the animals. But...there's one problem. Adam still doesn't have a helper! Let's see what God did next. God put Adam, into a deep sleep one day. Lay head on hands, close eyes. He took one of Adam's ribs, and made the woman this way. Open picture to show Eve also. God brought Eve to Adam. Now he had a wife! Point to Eve then Adam. This is the way God brought them to life! God loved the people he created so much that he made sure they would have everything they needed! He gave them land to live on, and water to swim in, and the bright, warm sun to shine on them! He gave them animals and fish and birds. And he made sure the people had plenty to eat! (Read Genesis 1:29). Just think how many plants and trees there are! (Girl with food picture). Who can name some fruits that are in this picture? (Let children answer). Who wants to tell me what their favorite fruit is? (Let children answer). And God gave them every kind of vegetable, and nuts and grains too! (Point to vegetables). And do you know what else God did? God loved people so much that he made us different than the animals and fish and birds. He took extra care and made us in a special way. Here's what the Bible says: (Read Gen. 1:27). That means that God made us a little like himself in some ways. (Boy pointing to head). He gave us a mind so we could think. And, he made us so that we can talk to each other, and play together, and work together. (Friends picture). And, he made us so we can be friends! And, best of all, God made us so that we can talk to him and know him! God loves us so much that he wants to hear all about your day! He wants you to run to him when you're sad, and tell with him when you're glad. (Children singing). He wants you to praise him when you do something well. In 2 Cor. our Bible says (Read 2 Cor. 1:3-4). He wants you to tell him all your troubles. (Child praying). He is the only one who can give you everything you need. He wants to be your God, and he wants you to get to know his Son, Jesus, too. He loves you so much he wants each of us to be his very own child and follow after him. And he wants to be his child. (Go around the room and fill in the blank with each child's name, then the adults in the room, including yourself). You might be thinking, 'I'm the child of my mom and dad, so how can I be God's child?' Your mom and dad are your parents on earth, and God wants to be your Father in heaven. God wants to become the most important one in your life! That's how much he loves you! He wants to pour out his love on you all the days of your life! How do we know that? Because in Isaiah he says so: (Read Isaiah 46:4). He's the one who made you, and he is the one who loves you the most!

Preschool Creation Lesson 7 - God Made People, p.3 Transition: Let's have snack, then we have some fun activities. CIRCLE TIME: (What does this mean for me?) Did you know that God loves you so much he took the time to make you just the way he wanted to? (Read Psalm 139:13-14). The way God made us is wonderful! isn't is great that we have a God who loves us so much that he gives us that much care and attention? Here's a rhyme about all the wonderful people God made. You can help me stick them on the globe: (You could also let children place the kid stickers wherever they want asking them "Where do you think he/she would live?". Being on the right continent doesn't really matter. They will still get the concepts of the lesson. See Toddler lesson for shorter version of rhyme). Group Activity/Rhyme All God s Special Children! I'll say a prayer first. Then, if anyone wants to pray after me, you can take turns praying. Prayer Sample: (This is just an example of what you could say. Let the Holy Spirit guide you). Dear God, Thank you for making us a little bit like you, so we could think and feel, and talk to you. Thank you for being so good to us. You gave us everything on the earth to enjoy! Thank you for being our awesome God, so powerful and wonderful. Thank you for being so kind to us and so full of grace! Thank you that we can depend on you always.
