S O : L W As you listen to the reading today, what image caught your imagination? What word or phrase struck you? S T : Look into our Life. Q C : Jesus says that in order to be one of his followers, we must be close to him. When do you feel closest to Jesus? Q Y : Jesus tells his disciples that they must renounce their possessions in order to be His disciple. If you had to, could you leave everything behind to be with God? What would hold you back? How much of a struggle would it be? Q A : Today's Gospel is demanding. How do you as a modern man or woman "denounce your possessions?" What does this mean for you? Parish Picnic Next Sunday!! The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults-RCIA The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is meant for those who: - have never been baptized but are curious about Christ and all He taught; - have been baptized in other Christian traditions, but have an interest in Catholics and the Catholic Church; - are already baptized Catholic but have never received Eucharist and/or Confirmation. These are the people the Rite of Christian Initiation seeks to reach and to serve. We are accepting enrollment for the 2016-17 session. The session starts in the Fall and candidates receive the sacraments at the Easter Vigil in April. Perhaps you know someone who may have questions about the faith, the process of RCIA, or a desire to be received into the Church. Think about it, pray about it, and offer an invitation. Anyone interested is asked to contact Andrea Henry, RCIA Coordinator at aphenryrcia@gmail.com or call 973-714-6844. Travel to Majestic Italy! The Diocesan Choir has accepted an invitation to be the principal choir singing the evening Mass at the altar of the chair in St. Peter's Basilica on February 23, 2017. We embrace the opportunity of serving in this role of musical leadership at the Vatican with a sense of honor, humility and great gladness. From the Diocese We are delighted that we will have the opportunity to attend at a Papal Mass on the solemnity of the chair of St. Peter! We will also celebrate Mass with song at the Basilica of St. Francis in Assisi. Besides offering us unique liturgical and musical opportunities, this pilgrimage will take us to the sacred sites of our Christian faith, including the Sistine chapel and the Basilicas of Christian Rome. Visiting Florence and Assisi, will certainly round out what promises to be a spiritually rewarding and altogether unforgettable experience. Best of all, we will be celebrating our faith, forming deeper bonds of friendship, and enjoying food and customs of another culture! This trip is open to all from throughout the Diocese; you need not be a regular member of the choir to sing with the choir on this trip. Furthermore, you need not be a choir member at all as we welcome pilgrims, family members and others who wish to experience the trip. It is scheduled during the President's Day long weekend to facilitate easy time away and the mostly all-inclusive package allows participants to sit back and enjoy the experience. A brochure with registration form is available on the music link of the Diocesan website: www.patersondiocese.org/music or by contacting Preston Dibble, Diocesan Director of Music directly. There is nothing like sharing such experiences with friends and family in faith; his will be a truly memorable journey in a special way. Please consider joining us! Sincerely in Christ, Preston Dibble, Diocesan Director of Music St. Paul Inside the Walls Y M E W!
