ACTIVITY 1 2 s/3 s only Super Ducks Bottom Line Children will shake off the superhero ducks and then say the Bottom Line together. What You Need: Parachute and superhero ducks What You Do: Place the superhero ducks onto the center of the parachute. Have the children form a circle and grab onto the sides of the parachute. Start off shaking the parachute slowly and then shake the parachute faster and faster until all of the superhero ducks have fallen off of the parachute. Once all the ducks have fallen off have the children say the Bottom Line. Collect the ducks and start again. Before the activity: Do you know what these are? (Pause.) Yes, these are superhero ducks! I have a fantastic idea! Let s play a game with these superheroes. Are you ready? During the activity: I am going to place all of these superheroes onto the parachute and we have to shake the parachute until all of the ducks fall off. Are you ready? (Pause.) Great, let s GO! (Once all the ducks have fallen off.) All those superheroes remind me that we can be strong and courageous because God is always with us. Before we can put the ducks back on and try again, we have to say our Bottom Line. Can you say it with me? (Pause.) Who is always with you? (Pause.) God is always with me. Great! Let s collect these superheroes and try again! After the activity: WOW! That was so much fun! I love playing with the parachute, don t you? (Pause.) But, my favorite part was practicing our Bottom Line. Can you say it with me one last time? (Pause.) Who is always with you? (Pause.) God is always with me!

ACTIVITY 2 2 s/3 s only Dot Match Have the children count the dots on the plates and then place Little People figures on each dot. What You Need: 5 paper plates with 1 dot, 2 dots, 3 dots, 4 dots and 5 dots on the plates and 5 Little People figures What You Do: During the Activity: Show each plate to the children and point out the dots. Have them count all of the dots on every plate. Let the children take turns selecting a plate and placing a Little People figure on each dot (for example, they will need three figures for the plate with three dots). Remove the Little People after each round and make sure each child has a turn. Before the Activity: Do you see the dots in the center of these plates? (Point.) Let s count them! During the Activity: (Count the dots on each plate.) Great job! Now I want us to use these Little People and match them to the number of dots we see. So, if there are two dots on the page, we will need how many Little People? (Pause.) That s right, two! (Do activity.) After the Activity: You are such great counters! I love these Little People figures. They look like my friends and family. In our lesson today, we heard about how one young woman, with God s help, saved ALL of her family and friends! Esther was strong and went to the king. She sat with the king and asked him to help all of her family and friends. The King said YES! YAY! Esther was so strong and knew that God was with her. God is always with us too! Who is always with you? God is always with me.

September Weeks 3 and 4 ACTIVITY 3 - All I m Not Afraid of You Memory Verse Children will stand up and say their memory verse when they hear the words, I m not afraid of you throughout the book. What You Need: The book The Little Old Lady Who Was Not Afraid of Anything by Linda Williams. What You Do: Gather the children around you on the carpet and read the book to them. When you say the words, I m not afraid of you, pause and have the children stand up and say their memory verse together. Once you have read the story, briefly talk about how everyone gets afraid sometimes, but we know that we can be strong and courageous because God is always with us! Before you ve read the book: We are going to read this book together. It is about a little old lady that wasn t afraid of anything, but, do you think she was maybe a little afraid? (Show the children the cover of the book.) Yes, I agree she might be a little scared. The little old lady shouts, I m not afraid of you all throughout this book. I want you to listen carefully, and when you hear me shout, I m not afraid of you, I will stop and we will stand up and say our memory verse together. Are you ready? (Pause) Remember to listen for the words, I m not afraid of you. Here we go! After you ve read the book: The little old lady in this book said she wasn t afraid of anything, but she really was afraid, wasn t she? That s why she was walking so quickly back to her house. Sometimes I get afraid too. I m afraid of things like big strange dogs and flying on airplanes. Do you ever get afraid? (Pause for responses.) When we trust that God is always with us, it makes us strong and courageous. So tell me, Who is always with you? God is always with me. Stand up with me and let s say our Bible verse one more time all together. Give it all you ve got!

Children will play a fun game of Mother May I but change the words to King/Queen May I. What You Need: Crown for the leader to wear What You Do: Have the children form a horizontal line about ten feet in front of you. Stand facing the children and give them several instructional movements as a group to do in order to reach you such as: Hopping, hopping on one foot, baby steps, giant steps, scissor steps, steps on tippy toes, galloping, and skipping. Be sure to tell them how many times they should do each movement. Before they start each movement they should ask you King or Queen (depending on your gender), may I? If they forget to ask, they have to go back to the starting area and try again. (Option: If you have a small class you can call each child by name to do the movements and play the game individually.) Before the activity: Let s play a game! Let s pretend that I am the king/queen and I will tell you to do something fun to get closer to me but before you move you have to ask, King/Queen, may I? When I say yes, then you can go. You have to listen carefully to what I say and be sure to ask the question before you move. Are you ready? (Pause.) Here we go! During the activity: Take three baby steps. (Children should ask, King/Queen, may I? ) Yes, you may. (Children move.) Great job! Now take three hops. (Continue using all the movements until the children reach you. If the children forget to ask, have them go back and begin again. Repeat as many times as desired.) At the end of the activity: Awesome! Our lesson today was about a girl named Esther, and she asked the king something, too. Do you remember what she asked the king? (Pause) Yes, Esther was strong and went to the king. She sat with the king and asked him to help God s people. The King said YES! YAY! Esther was so strong and knew that God was with her. God is always with us too! Who is always with you? God is always with me.

ACTIVITY 5 4 s/5 s only Red Rover Children will play a fun game of Red Rover without the breaking hands part. What You Need: No supplies needed. What You Do: During the activity: Lead the children in playing a game of Red Rover. Divide the children into two equal groups. Assist the two groups in forming two lines facing one another. (the leader should help the children come up with the next category) Those children will walk to the other group and join hands. Allow the two groups to keep going back and forth as long as they are having fun. Make sure every child to move to the other side. Before the activity: I m going to teach you how to play a new game today called Red Rover. It s SUPER fun! (Explain the game and continue as long as the children are interested.) At the end of the activity: Was it fun being chosen by your friends? (Pause.) Sure, it was! It feels good to be chosen, doesn t it? God chose Esther to do something really SUPER in today s Bible lesson. He chose her to save her people from mean Haman. Esther s love for God and her people made her strong enough to do the right thing. And Esther knew she could count on God to be with her the whole time. God wants to use you to do SUPER things, too! It s true! And Esther was so strong and knew that God was with her. God is always with us too! Who is always with you? God is always with me.

CRAFT WEEK 3 Super Student Crowns What You Need: Super Student crowns and markers What You Do: Give each child a crown. Have the children use the markers to create their very own Super Student crown. Before the activity: In our lesson today we talked about a king who helped Esther save her people. Kings and queens wear beautiful clothes and crowns. We are going to make a Super Student crown to remind us that God was with Esther when she was strong and that He is with us, too. At the end of the activity: I love your crowns! They are so beautiful, just like a king or queen would wear. In today s Bible lesson we learned more about what it really means to be SUPER KIDS! Remember, super s not in your arms or your legs or your brain. It s God living in you that does SUPER things! And God did something else totally SUPER in our Bible lesson today! Do you remember what SUPER thing He did through Esther? (Pause.) Yes! Mean Haman was going to hurt Esther s people. Esther loved God and her people so much, it made her strong enough to go and talk to the king. (Pause.) And what did the king do? (Pause.) He saved Esther s people! Esther knew she could count on God to be with her the whole time. God wants to use you to do SUPER things, too! It s true! God was with Esther and God is always with us too! Who is always with you? God is always with me.

CRAFT WEEK 4 Super Hero Sticker Scene What You Need: Sticker Scene What You Do: Let the children create their very own Superhero Sticker Scene. At the end of the activity: I love your sticker scenes! They are Super-Duper!

SMALL GROUP Small Group Time What you Need: Parent Take Home Card, Playdoh, Star Cookie Cutters, Rolling Pins, and Sticker Roll Wow! What a great Bible story today! Who is always with you? CHILDREN and SGL: God is always with me. SGL: He sure is! We can do what God wants us to do, because God is always with us. Esther knew God was with her. That is why she was SUPER strong and did what God wanted her to do. I want us to be SUPER strong and do what God wants us to do too! SGL: Now let s sit down for prayer time. One, two, three, eyes on me! We have to be strong to do the things God wants us to do. Not strong like pick up a huge rock strong, but strong like I can do this! strong. Esther was I can do this! You can also make up additional questions from our video lesson. Don t forget to ask them to say their memory verse for another sticker. You can repeat the same questions over and over as repetition is good for preschoolers.) You are such great listeners! Now I ll pray before it s time to say goodbye until next week.
