Remember priests, such as Msgr. McGann and Fr. Bertelli, who have made a meaningful difference in your life, and consider honoring them with a generous gift to the Christmas collection. Our priests have been there for us in our times of need. Now it is our turn to care for them when they need us. All are welcome to make a gift online at www.clergyfunds.org or use the inpew envelopes that will be provided. Thank you in advance for your prayers and generous support of our priests. INVITATION TO STUDY REVELATION The Scripture Study Group will be starting a new session on the book of Revelation, beginning Thursday, January 19, 2017, from 7:00 8:30 pm in McGann Hall, and continuing weekly for 11 weeks, finishing a week before Palm Sunday. [Jan 19, 26, Feb 2, 9, 16, 23, Mar 2, 9, 16, 23, 30] If you have ever wondered what all the symbolism is about in Revelation, this would be a great time to listen to a gifted teacher of Biblical Salvation History and to discuss its meaning for us with our fellow parishioners. Prior participation in the earlier Jeff Cavins programs is not required to join this study session. Cost is $35 for lesson materials and contribution toward DVD set that s used in the program. Please notify the Parish Office (781 729 8220 X10; lmacmullin@sainteulalia.org by Sunday, December 11th, of your interest in the program so we may order books. - PLEASE COMPLETE BY DECEMBER 11TH AND DROP IN THE OSR BOX OR BRING/MAIL TO PARISH OFFICE: THE UNBROKEN WORD As we either leave or say goodbye to family members, taking the obligatory photograph we experience the unique feeling which is an American Thanksgiving. For me, this is a combination of both gratitude and sadness. Gratitude for once again, seeing all the smiling faces which make up our family, their interaction together, sharing stories, moments, or just being together. Sadness, for the separation we are going to be feeling again once they have closed the car doors, turned on the GPS and dropped out of sight yet again. However, the sadness of separation is not always a bad thing. It makes us reflect on the gift these people are in our lives, what makes up our close family, and a reminder of how God has bound us all in love. The image below is of a walk taken with the family over Thanksgiving as an older cousin informs his junior of the wonders of nature. We all have moments to treasure, and God now gives us new ones to consider during the afterglow of Thanksgiving as we enter that most wonderful period of Advent. Preparing ourselves for the most important arrival. The Loving Cousin I am interested in participating in this series: Name: Phone: Email: The Giving Tree is standing at the back of the church, laden with circles describing gifts for less fortunate children and adults in the inner city and locally. The procedure is: 1. Choose a circle from the tree. 2. Purchase the gift, or something similar. 3. Wrap the gift and attach the circle securely to the package for sorting purposes. 4. Place the gift beneath the tree by December 11 as the sorting is being done on December 12th. The recipients of these gifts often send notes of appreciation for your kindness and generosity as they struggle with their difficult lives. Thank you for caring and sharing!! Hand placed gently as details of the scene are whispered, With a kind, soothing and inquisitive voice. Borne only of love and care, Stooping to engage with the wonder of an animal in its stall, On this winter day. Another fleeting moment of grateful thanksgiving.
