NO STUDENT LEFT BEHIND Campus Ministry Link & City Movements MUTLIPYING WORKERS FOR THE HARVEST TO REFORM CULTURE 1

The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest. Where are people most available to discuss the gospel? What is the quickest way to double laborers? 2

By preserving and empowering what we have. What if we could reverse this loss and help campus ministries and churches prepare freshmen to reach freshmen? It s happening successfully in churches now! What if every church in the city helped students succeed? What would this mean for society and cities? 3

FACTS: Connecting in advance to campus ministries & churches has been demonstrated to substantially reduce the 70% dropout. The first weeks on campus is also when non-believers are most open to the gospel. See this National Network of Youth Ministries post. A Navigators study revealed that the friends made during the first 72 hours on campus often dictates the outcome. Students must connect long in advance. Now a coalition of major college ministries, youth ministries, and a growing number of denominations have aligned to connect the majority of high school juniors and seniors. Objective: Double believing freshmen, help them be evangelistically fruitful, and at least triple 4 believing college grads into society.

Connect with ministries & churches today on every campus Coalition of College, Youth, & Denominational ministries 5

FROM LOSING 70% TO LOSING NONE IN ONE SEMESTER 6

Remarks from Leaders When Christian college freshmen are alone, their faith rarely survives in today s college environment. The good news is that when they re connected in advance to campus ministries, churches, and Christian friends, they not only survive, but thrive and impact their classmates. Campus Ministry Link will help parents, churches, and ministries to turn the tide so this generation can now become the leaders of tomorrow. Josh McDowell, Cru / Josh McDowell Ministry I enthusiastically endorse the Campus Ministry Link. With today s typical collegiate environment, it is critical that we help our precious Christian high school seniors transition well toward meaningful relationships, discipleship and outreach opportunities when they arrive on campus. Working together in this effort is a vital investment in the future of our future leaders, churches, and our society. Daryl Nuss: Executive Director/CEO of the National Network of Youth Ministries As a campus missionary who has seen many students easily swept away by the torrent of the college campus, I am thrilled about Campus Ministry Link. Students connected early to ministries not only survive college with intact faith, but influence others for Christ for a lifetime. Campus Ministry Link will be a huge blessing to graduating high school seniors and their parents. Greg Van Nada, Managing Director, Collegiate Church Network 7

The first weeks on campus Navigators study First 72 hours often determines which type of friends will be the main peer group to bond with and outcomes. Christian Freshmen: High Potential & High Risk Probably have not experienced leading peers to faith in HS Best opportunity ever to see peers come to faith sparks new life! Create support and discipleship network Multiplication Sweet Spot Non Christian Freshmen: Only time in their life without a peer group Very hungry to meet new friends Ready to reinvent themselves and try new things When born-again are often visible and contagious! 8

Reformational Effect on Society Believers Multiply and transform college culture Students return for Christmas to energize their youth groups with stories of growth and leading friends to faith. Once that successful evangelism is a reality to students, pastors adopt high schools to start student-led clubs like FCA, YFC, YL, YA, etc. Developing transition to the marketplace and business ministries like BMF, CBMC, C12, New Canaan, etc. Includes high school and college preparation. 9

No Student Left Behind in our city! First wave of Students: Now Aug 2018 Leading pastors, and para church leaders encourage all churches and Christian schools to use Campus Ministry Link so juniors & seniors connect now. College ministries invite church youth groups to sample campus ministry. Also offer speak at churches. College ministries & churches strategically plan for freshmen to freshmen outreach during first weeks of college, then hold a college Experience Night in their home church after the semester. Ongoing Engage with existing city movements Business, church, and ministry groups collaborate with the Campus Ministry Link coalition and website to provide evangelistic, discipleship, and culture development tools that create societal change. 10

No Student Left Behind Your role If you are a stakeholder in a city movement, and want to be listed as a Campus Ministry Link Ambassador organization, here are the steps to take: Churches, Schools & High School Ministries 1. Commit to best efforts to connect all high school students and their parents to CML. 2. Add your listing to CML in cases where you directly serve college students at a particular university. (so students and parents can find your church). 3. Encourage other pastors in your city to join in. 4. Use the new Pastor/School Counselor Dashboard to connect with and follow students (Available Nov 2017 please review design). We have to dedicate resources to organize a movement in your city. Consider sowing monthly or annual mission funding into this project Contact us today to learn more. (read the Vision & Mobilization Document). College Ministries 1. Invite all other college ministries at your college to join CML 2. Invite local churches who serve the campus to CML 3. Invite church youth groups to come and sample college ministry 4. Visit and speak at churches when possible. 11

No Student Left Behind Your role Business Ministries 1. Champion this movement as a concrete way for your city to multiply disciples, end the faith drop-out and grieving parents, create a stream of Kingdom minded college graduate to lead and invest in your city. More Christian college grads means more successful businesses and more well-employed believers to tithe to churches and fund Kingdom expansion projects. 2. Become a content provider on our forthcoming marketplace preparation page, and business transition connection pages. This may also include links to your Marketplace ministry. 3. Seek support from businesses and business people. Campus Ministry Link will need to dedicate staff time for initial mobilization of each city. Churches and businesses can underwrite the effort. Call to discuss cost estimates for your city. 4. Advertise on Campus Ministry Link to reach Christian parents, pastors, college ministries and students nationally or in your region. The coalition believes that it will soon normal for all Christian students to connect, and use this site as the means to do so. 12

Steering team & support costs Steering team Assemble a team that can meet over Skype or in-person quarterly or periodically to maintain the momentum. The time commitment will not be particularly heavy, since much of the informational work is carried out by the website itself. You can determine the membership but it is recommended that you include. At least 4 dedicated and influential pastors At least 4 influential business representatives One from each major college ministry type (Cru, IV, FCA, Navigators etc) One from each major high school ministry type (YL, FCA, YFC, YA, etc) At least one representative from a Christian high school Each of these should commit to flowing information from the meetings to 5 others of their type, who will also do the same with 5 of their type to spread communication, strategies and goals around the city. Support Costs Campus Renewal will supply the services shown on the next slide to jump-start the local team in launching the movement. The steering team will be responsible for raising support costs from businesses, churches, and other stake holders to cover the cost of this and the time investments by Campus Renewal. 13

What Campus Renewal will supply: City Movement Support & Campus Renewal Services To help you reach your goals of changing the youth/college/marketplace dynamic in your city, Campus Renewal will supply the following: A Campus Renewal person to speak at online or in-person meetings to provide initial vision, strategy and steps for the community, to establish the local leadership team. Recommended step by step strategies Develop a city web page for communication that will show: City-specific strategies and progress Display of all participating ministries and churches by role, with contact information Movement updates and social media connections Calendar of events Other features you request Encourage support from team member s parent organizations. We are working with the leadership of national college and youth ministries, and will advocate for any local support that you need. Other services beyond this base package. Campus Renewal will provide you with the level of costs needed to support your city. This is one of the mechanisms that enable Campus Ministry Link to operate nationally. The overall Vision and Funding Plan is here. 14

Getting Started The starting point is to identify someone who will start inviting potential candidates for the Steering Team (p. 13) to attend an introductory video meeting for us to share and discuss the mission. When you have that person or persons, let us know and we will give you material to help with your invitations. For the video call with screen sharing we can use this link: https://campusrenewal.zoom.us/j/5123315991 Sample email to participants: Greetings. As you know, Jesus said that the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Would you be interested in joining me in a project that can reverse the 70% college faith dropout, double the number of believers on college campuses, to then multiply ministrytrained college grads to help every ministry and church in our city? I would like to see your interest in joining an online meeting with others to discuss how we could make this happen in our city. We have not yet selected the time and date, but wanted to see if you are interested. Below are some links that you can view: www.campusministrylink.org CBN News Article No Student Left Behind City Movements See Share with Pastors in your City on the Youth Leader page. I d love to have you join us! Let me know if you are interested in learning more. 15
