If you have any questions about the passage please email Steve and he will add his response in a following broadcast. You can, of course, unsubscribe at any time. We believe God speaks to us through his Word and Spirit. Part of a living relationship with Jesus is to take time to listen and to learn God s will for our lives. As a church we encourage each other to set aside a portion of the day meditating upon God s word. One way of doing this is to use the Scripture Union WORDLIVE programme which is a simple and practical way to pray, read, reflect and respond to God s word, with additional material to help you go deeper into the background of the Bible passage. https://www.wordlive.org/session If you have any questions about the passage please email a member of the leadership.

THIS MONTHS MISSION FEATURE In this multi-faith area with lower than average socioeconomic indicators, I always start every session saying that we are a Christian organisation. We believe that God made our world special and we should look after it - whatever faith we have. Doesn t it look beautiful today? I find this inclusive approach works, which I will discuss below. Firstly, here is some background information before 2018 prayers. A Rocha UK Southall and Hayes Education My name is David Melville and for the last seven years, I have had a staff position at the A Rocha UK Centre (HQ), working most recently as the London Education Manager. I work from Monday to Wednesday, leaving Lewes on Sunday evenings and returning on Wednesday evenings. Last year was wonderfully busy as we worked in stunning urban green spaces connecting mostly primary school children to God s creation through fun and stimulating outdoor activities. My team of interns and volunteers held nearly 80 events and influenced many individuals (3000 footfall recorded). A Rocha UK is a Christian conservation charity working to protect and restore the natural world, both nationwide and in Southall. For over 14 years ARUK has been working in education at a Living legacy called Minet Country Park and more recently at a new venture; an urban nature reserve owned by the London Borough of Ealing but managed by A Rocha UK for the local community called Wolf Fields. The site had fallen into disrepair, attracting vandalism and antisocial behaviour. However, it has been transformed from brokenness to beauty with an amazing array of resources on site including; allotments, orchards, wildflower meadows, a sensory garden, a pond, bird feeding stations, nest boxes, a beehive and a teaching apiary for all ages to enjoy the outdoors and appreciate nature!

Creation care is a unifier in multi-faith environments with all Holy Scriptures advocating our responsibility to rise to the challenge. I often go into primary schools to share my own take on creation care. I can be leading a Christian assembly one day and the next day be in a Sikh Gurdwara school temple (on Creation care, not Sikhism!) I believe we should seek out what we have in common and give thanks for this while acknowledging the differences other faiths have to offer. I personally hold onto a core belief from the bible when Jesus says I am the way the truth and the life no one comes to the father except through me (John 14:6). Please Pray for:- The expansion of our west London programme to more schools, diversity, special needs and RE. A school pack from our Southall outdoor activities linked to the national curriculum, to weave Christian creation care further in London and Nationally. Continued good relationships in a small team and the human challenges of a Christian community. Loose Collections Every loose collection will be shared amongst our mission partners. This week we are focusing our prayers on David Melville working with A Rocha uk. If you would like to give to the Church and not to the current mission partner please use the appropriate envelope: either a Gift Aid one or a nontaxpayer's one. Non-taxpayers please note: under the Gift Aid Small Donor Scheme (GASDS) the Church can claim gift aid on cash donations of 20 or less, no details are required. Please ask a Church Warden if you cannot find the correct envelope. If you have a notice... All events, ministries or notices for publication in any of our media should go to office@trinitylewes.org Please note that the deadline for the notice sheet is Wednesday 9am. Please note Monday is the Clergy, Youth Minister s and Children s Minister s day-off, and Friday is Janette Watkins day-off (Pastoral Minister) so they are not available on those days except for emergencies. Safeguarding We take the safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults seriously. Therefore if you have any concerns please speak to any of our Lead or Deputy Safeguarding Representatives (Kirsty Stannard, Amanda Burgess or Jenni Taylor). David is part of the Trinity Creation Care team where Martin Pett heads up the Eco-church award.
