God s Word To Us Ministry Through Music: Blessed Assurance arr. Keith Hampton Sanctuary Chorus; Scott Dean, director; Cheryse McLeod Lewis, soloist Scripture: Joshua 14:6-13, 15b (9am) Rev. Rich Gingrich, (11am) Nan Van Zwol 6 Now the people of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him, You know what the LORD said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me. 7 I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions, 8 but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear. I, however, followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly. 9 So on that day Moses swore to me, The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the LORD my God wholeheartedly. 10 Now then, just as the LORD promised, He has kept me alive for fortyfive years since the time He said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old! 11 I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. 12 Now give me this hill country that the LORD promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the LORD helping me, I will drive them out just as He said. 13 Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance. 15b Then the land had rest from war. *All who are able please stand +Seating of late arrivals
*+ By Faith Keith and Kristin Getty and Stuart Townend (Verse 1) By faith we see the hand of God In the light of creation s grand design, In the lives of those who prove His faithfulness, Who walk by faith and not by sight. (Verse 2) By faith our fathers roamed the earth With the pow r of His promise in their hearts, Of a holy city built by God s own hand, A place where peace and justice reign. (Chorus) We will stand as children of the promise; We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul s reward. Til the race is finished and the work is done, We ll walk by faith and not by sight. (Verse 3) By faith the prophets saw the day When the longed-for Messiah would appear With the pow r to break the chains of sin and death And rise triumphant from the grave. (Verse 5) By faith this mountain shall be moved And the pow r of the gospel shall prevail, For we know in Christ all things are possible For all who call upon His name. (Chorus) (Chorus) We ll walk by faith and not by sight. ccli#5469291 Sermon: Move in Faith, Not Fear *All who are able please stand +Seating of late arrivals Dr. Scott Dudley
