LIVE THE LITURGY - INSPIRATION FOR THE WEEK The command of God is not found in some list of prescriptions, rules, or regulations but in our mouths and in our hearts. God's command is merciful love and our only task is to carry it out. We do this by keeping our relationships in proper order: our relationship with God, our relationship with ourselves, and most importantly our relationship with our neighbor, which our story of the Good Samaritan so aptly underscores. URGENT!! CATECHISTS NEED FOR TIGERTON Please call Tammy at the parish office if you or someone you know is interested in donating their time and talent to educate the children this year in Tigerton. We are in great need this year. Prayerfully consider what you may be able to do to help the children learn about God and our Faith. All materials are provided. Can you answer this calling? EVERYDAY STEWARDSHIP - RECOGNIZE GOD IN YOUR ORDINARY MOMENTS What does it mean to give of yourself completely, without reservation, without fear, and without a concern for the cost? Should it matter if the person who needs us is unlike us in skin color, religion, or nationality? What does real mercy look like? Jesus answered these questions beautifully in perhaps the greatest of the stewardship parables, the story of the Good Samaritan. Here a Judean traveler has been attacked, beaten, and left for dead on the side of the road. Others see him, but the cost to them to stop and help is too great. It is a Samaritan, one who is despised by most in the area, that stops, and he gives of his time, talent, and treasure to help the poor victim. Where the Samaritan was going we cannot know for sure, but he stopped to give his time to the beaten man. Using oil and wine, he bandaged the wounds. Not everyone has the knowledge and skills to care for someone in this manner. Here, he gave of his talent. Then he placed the man on his own animal and carried him to an inn the rest of the day. The following day he pays the innkeeper, yet leaves explaining that if the payment is not enough, when he travels back on through he will repay him whatever the cost. Of course, here he shares his treasure. St. Mary s, Bear Creek- Sauerkraut Festival Saturday August 6th & Sunday August 7th Sauerkraut Dinner from 10:30 to 1:00 each day Homemade desserts Kids games, Country Store and Craft Booth, Raffles Saturday band 8 midnight Sunday band 1-5 pm Car Show both days and Sunday Parade at 1:30 pm Sunday Mass & Healing Service July 10th, 2016 at 3:30 PM St. Matthew Catholic Church 229 S. 28th Ave., Wausau, WI 54401 Confessions before Mass 2:00-3:15 pm Mass at 3:30 pm Following Mass you may come forward for individual prayer. The sharing of these things is profound enough, but it is the statement of his willingness to pay whatever the balance is that elevates this tale to an ultimate example of stewardship. The Samaritan does not care how high the cost. He will give whatever is needed. This is mature discipleship, to respond to the call of Jesus Christ regardless of the cost. This is true stewardship. Tracy Earl Welliver, MTS I am not my own; I have given myself to Jesus. He must be my only love. --St. Kateri Tekakwitha Page 2 Three Parish Catholic Family

Prayers? Is anyone in need of prayers? There is no problem that is too small or too big that we are not willing to pray for!! Our four Parishes have a group of Prayers that are willing and honored to pray for your needs. Please call any of the names and we will begin the prayers. St. Mary's Marion Bea 715-754-5431 St. Anthony's Tigerton Vonnie 715-535-2065 Jeanette 715-754-2376 Holy Family-St. William Wittenberg Jeanette 715-253-2931 or Karen 715-253-2059 +++++++++++++++++ WHY DO WE DO THAT? - CATHOLIC TRADITIONS EXPLAINED Question: We are considering homeschooling our children. Does this present a problem when it is time for them to receive the sacraments? Answer: With religious education, many dioceses have a formal policy that outlines procedures and expectations, some of which include more than just academic information. Call the religious education office to find out what they are for your area. In general, though, an appointment with your parish priest to discuss your situation is the best first step. An opportunity to discuss what is available, what the expectations are for each sacrament, and how you can best prepare your child helps make your time of preparation more effective. The priest can direct you to good catechetical materials, parent information classes, and other choices and possibilities for your child. All parents need to be part of their child's religious education, taking a lead in instilling the values and beliefs of their faith. Communication and information helps us all to teach and preach the Gospel as Jesus did. General Information Confessions The Sacrament of Penance will be celebrated on the... 1st Saturday of the month at Tigerton from 9-9:30PM 2nd Saturday of the month at Wittenberg from 9-9:30PM 3rd Saturday of the month at Marion from 9-9:30AM 4th Saturday of the month at Leopolis from 9-9:30 Communion to the Homebound & Hospital Visits If you would like to receive communion at home or be visited when in the hospital contact Deb Brandt, Pastoral Coordinator. Religious Education Any parent interested in having his or her child or teen learn more about the Catholic Faith should contact Tammy Wendler at the Three Parish office. RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) Any person wanting to learn more about the Catholic Faith or to join our Church should contact Debra Brandt, Pastoral Coordinator. Matrimony Couples planning to marry are to contact Fr. Castan eda at least nine months prior to the proposed marriage date. Marriage preparation involves a series of meetings with the priest, married couples, and a retreat. Coming to Mass every weekend and participating in the life of the parish community is vitally important for those who wish to be married. Couples should not be living together prior to marriage. Baptism Anyone desiring the Sacrament of Baptism for themselves or for his or her infant child should contact Deb Brandt, Pastoral Coordinator. The Baptism of infants requires an active faith on the part of their parents and godparents. Coming to Mass every weekend and participating in the life of the parish community is vitally important for those who wish their children to be baptized. Funerals In the event of the death of a loved one, please contact the parish office or Father Castan eda directly. The family representative (s) should arrange to meet with Father Castan eda regarding the liturgical preparation: Wake Service, Funeral Mass and Internment. The Funeral Mass may be scheduled for any day of the week except Sunday. Anointing of the Sick In the case of serious illness or inirmity contact Father Castan eda at the parish office to arrange for receiving the Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick. Those with scheduled surgeries may receive the Sacrament at home or at the church prior to going to the hospital for the surgery. Page 3 Three Parish Catholic Family

THREE PARISH NEWS Don t know what to do with those unused religious items?? Articles that are used and in either fair/good or broken conditions? We will be collecting them at all of our parishes the weekends of July 17th and 24th. Bring them to the sacristy for collection. These articles can be anything from old Bibles and religious books to rosaries, pictures or statuary in any condition. Father José will have more information on this at the masses. Only religious articles, please. All religious items that you were afraid to throw away. Father will help you properly take care of them. The summer time offers many of you an occasion for rest. During this time, let us always remember to be merciful. Pope Francis hholy Family-St. William, Wittenberg News CCW News: Our 14th Annual Bake Sale was a huge success! Sales totaled $736.55 and donations are still pouring in. Thank you to all the ladies for taking the time to bake and donate on a holiday weekend. Special thanks to the ladies and students that worked at the sale and to Lee and Jerry for their help setting up the tents and tables. High school scholarships, food pantry donation, funeral dinners, sacramental receptions/gifts, and parish kitchen needs are all funded by this annual sale. St. Anthony, Tigerton News Thank you all for responding so well to the new Saturday Mass time. We trust this will prove a good time for families to meet, share in the Eucharist with the community, and maybe enjoy a meal together afterward. What a wonderful way to spend a Saturday evening and make it a weekly event. God Bless Families!! Pocket Prayer Cloths: We received a wonderful response for help with crochet & knitting Pocket Prayer Cloths. Thank you to the ladies from our parish and other parishes for your help. We have a good supply now to offer to parishioners and visitors in our Gathering Area. Please continue to make the cloths and drop them off in the basket in the parish hall. Pocket Prayer Cloths offered in our Gathering Area: Father Jose has blessed the Pocket Prayer Cloths made by our prayerful crocheters and knitters. Pocket Prayer Cloths are meant to bring comfort by symbolizing God's love for you. You may slip it in your pocket or purse, keep it by your bedside, or use it any way you wish that might bring you comfort & peace. When your fingers touch it, remember you are never alone, for God is always with you. Feel free to take one for yourself or to give to anyone who you feel could use this comfort. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Perry Seamless Gutters, as well as all of our contributors, for their generous and gracious support of our Four Parish Bulletin. Thank You!
