this is VILLAGE STUDENTS

We are Jesus followers. We have fun. We are what we do. WE ARE Who WE ARE 4-5TH GRADE 6-8TH GRADE 9-12TH GRADE

One name... And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. ACTS 4:12 One God... For there is one God, and there is one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. 1 TIMOTHY 2:5 One reason... He called you to salvation when we told you the Good News; now you can share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 THESSALONIANS 2:14 WhyWE DO WHAT WE DO Jesus.

1. 3. 2. 4. 5. 9. We do a little bit of everything. 6. 7. WhatWE DO 8. 10. EVENTS EXPLAINED ON THE NEXT PAGE...

WHAT WE DO, EXPLAINED... 1. SEGWAY is the first S in S3. It is for our 4th & 5th graders and meets on Sunday mornings during the 10:00 a.m. service in the VillageChurch Student Center. Your student will experience worship, VGroups and games as leaders will make a personal investment helping your student transition from elementary to middle school. 2. SHAKEN is the second S in S3. It is for our 6th-8th graders and meets on Wednesday nights from 5:45-7:00 p.m. in the VillageChurch Student Center. This unique midweek experience involves high-energy live worship from our high school band, engaging messages fueled for students, and entertainment which includes games, skits and friendly competition that your student will not want to miss. 3. SURGE is the final S in S3. It is for our 9th-12th graders and meets on Wednesday nights from 7:15-8:30 p.m. in the VillageChurch Student Center. This midweek experience involves high-energy live worship from our high school band, engaging messages fueled for students, and entertainment that ranges from games, skits and friendly competition to just hanging out with friends. Surge students will discover their leadership capabilities, how to impact their communities and embrace the possibilities that S3 has to offer. 4. POST GAME is the after party held at Blythewood High School following every home football game. Students can grab a refreshing snack, listen to some lively music and hang out with their closest friends. Post Game snacks will range from Rita s Italian Ice to Moe s Southwest Grill or even some southern BBQ. This event is for Surge students only. 5. SERVE is simply what it says... serving others. At S3 we want to impact our community by showing them the love of Christ. Serve is done through our VGroup ministry where students will be able to partner with a local organization and become a difference maker in Blythewood. Your student will have an opportunity in the fall to attend Operation Christmas Child (must be 13 or older) and in the spring attend Spring Break Serve at Camp Longridge. 6. V-GROUPS are led by VillageChurch leaders who want to make an impact in the life of your student. At VillageChurch, we believe that people should not meander through life alone. Instead, they should have a core network of Christian friends they can lean on in tough times, share life experiences, celebrate life s joyous moments, and grow in their Faith through prayer and Bible study. 7. THE MIX is a monthly gathering on the last Wednesday of every month where students can invite their friends for some food, fun and games. 8. GETAWAY is the name for all S3 camps and retreats. Getaway camps take place throughout the summer in various locations based on grade level. Shaken students experience a week at Camp Longridge where they are challenged to grow in their faith, play paintball, dare to conquer the blob and grow through Getaway VGroups. Surge students set their sights on the Blue Ridge Mountains where they retreat at the YMCA, raft down rivers of the smokies and experience the power of Getaway worship, led by the VillageBand. Don t miss out on your Getaway. 9. THE LIFT TOUR is a world-class weekend experience that will challenge your students at all points in their spiritual walks and to embrace a Christ-centered lifestyle. This weekend event focuses on passionate worship, engaging teaching and spiritual discipleship designed to fuel faith within the hearts of teenagers to build mature followers of Jesus who don t just survive in society, but thrive. Do not worry, we always make time for a late night Krispy Kreme run to top off a great weekend. 10. SLU (STUDENT LEADERSHIP UNIVERSITY) is a faith-based, experiential leadership-training program that empowers, enables and equips middle and high school students to rise to the call of leadership and awaken their potential. A student leadership journey like none other, SLU offers unforgettable experiences that equip students to change the way they think, dream and lead, both today and for the rest of their lives. Whether they go behind-the-scenes at Sea World, explore our Nation s Capital, immerse themselves in history in Europe or walk where Jesus walked in Israel, at SLU, young people learn to think bigger, ignite their calling, impact their world and lead like Jesus. Team up... YOU CAN TEAM UP BY SERVING IN ONE OF THESE AREAS: FIRST IMPRESSIONS make an everlasting impact on guests. You will be given the opportunity to share the excitement of S3 before anyone else. This is done through helping with parking, welcoming new faces as a greeter or helping check students in at the check in station. PRODUCTION allows you the opportunity to enhance the S3 worship experience. You will help students engage in worship through visual, audio, lights or design. Each element plays a vital role in worship. MUSIC is a gift we use as an act of worship. Use your God given ability to sing or play an instrument to engage S3 students as they sing praises to our Lord. VGROUPS create community, friendships and service. The impact of a VGroup leader lasts a lifetime. You will be given the opportunity to co-lead a weekly VGroup for our students and relate with our students in a way that no other area of service offers. HOSPITALITY allows you to meet and hangout with students during Shaken, Surge or other events through serving snacks or a meal. Team members may be asked to bring a side item, paper product or something else to help with an event. Each member will be assigned to a team and the S3 staff will do their best to accommodate your schedule. EVENT CHAPERONES allow S3 to create some of the best experiences for our students. Nothing could be done without them. Responsibilities vary from each event. If you want to go to Getaway, SLU, Post Game or any student event then this is the place for you.
