He has removed our rebellious acts as far away from us as the east is from the west. The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. Psalm 103:12-13 Brothers and Sisters in Christ, What a loving God we serve! As June arrives we are reminded again of the mercy that flows from God, a tender and compassionate love upon those who fear him. And how like teenagers we can truly be when it comes to obedience to God and His will for our lives. I was blessed to have a good loving father, who punished me when I deserved it, but also encouraged me to be and grow in the direction God called me. Even though I was rebellious (and I was very rebellious), my Dad never stopped loving me and his mercy flowed to me, correcting my wrongs, yet always demonstrating his love for me. WEDNESDAY NIGHTS SUMMER SCHEDULE Worship at 6:30 followed by Doing Life Together groups at 7:00 pm Come on out and center on Jesus. Some are not so blessed to have such loving fathers. For those who have not had a good and merciful earthly father, God is the Father they need and deserve. God can lovingly heal the wounds of life, encourage you to fulfill your purpose in life, and hangs your picture close to his heart, so he can share his pride over you with others. My Father went home to glory almost twenty years ago. However, I still have my Daddy. I have God as my father, who is tender and compassionate to me and removes my rebellion as far away as the east is from the west and that is no small trick. Do I fear him? You bet! After all, he is God! But I fear him out of respect, reverence awe, and love, not out of panic, dread, terror or apprehension. The Lord is like a Father to his children. Happy Father s Day Lord! Thanks for being the Father we all need, tender and compassionate and always present. See you at Dad s house, Pastor Shirley
