Beloved Summertime is here once again! For those of us who live where we actually experience the four seasons with all of various changes in temperature and precipitation, summer is quite a welcome relief as the warmth of God s creation surrounds us. I just wanted to take a few moments to encourage you to continue to be faithful in your giving during the summer months. While vacations are enjoyed by so many of our church family, and rightfully so I might add, the ministries of the church continue to move forward as lives are changed, marriages healed, and God is glorified through it all. Stewardship of the resources God places in our hands extends so much further than even finances, as prayers are also needed for our various ministries, including the general overall health of our church body. If you are one of those who will be vacationing this year, would you be sure to lift us up in prayer at various times during your break? You can also experience worship online at www.bethanybklyn.org. So, I trust you will receive this pen as more of an encouragement to continue to just do the right things, and you will find God s presence in so many ways as you continue to steward God s blessings in your life. I also trust I will see you here at Bethany on a regular basis during the summer if you aren t away. With a Shepherd s Love, Pastor Lacey

Sunday ~ July 5~ 2015 NOT WITHOUT YOUR SPIRIT ~ SERMON SERIES JULY 5 TH POWERED BY THE SPIRIT ZECHARIAH 4:6-10 JULY 12 TH QUENCH NOT THE SPIRIT I THESSALONIANS 5:16-22 JULY 19 TH A DIFFERENT SPIRIT NUMBERS 14:20-25 JULY 26 TH SIGNED SEALED DELIVERED EPHESIANS 1:11-14 MORNING SCRIPTURE ~ HAGGAI 1:2-15 (NIV) 2 This is what the LORD Almighty says: These people say, The time has not yet come to rebuild the LORD s house. 3 Then the word of the LORD came through the prophet Haggai: 4 Is it a time for you yourselves to be living in your paneled houses, while this house remains a ruin? 5 Now this is what the LORD Almighty says: Give careful thought to your ways. 6 You have planted much, but harvested little. You eat, but never have enough. You drink, but never have your fill. You put on clothes, but are not warm. You earn wages, only to put them in a purse with holes in it. 7 This is what the LORD Almighty says: Give careful thought to your ways. 8 Go up into the mountains and bring down timber and build my house, so that I may take pleasure in it and be honored, says the LORD. 9 You expected much, but see, it turned out to be little. What you brought home, I blew away. Why? declares the LORD Almighty. Because of my house, which remains a ruin, while each of you is busy with your own house. 10 Therefore, because of you the heavens have withheld their dew and the earth its crops. 11 I called for a drought on the fields and the mountains, on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil and everything else the ground produces, on people and livestock, and on all the labor of your hands. 12 Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the whole remnant of the people obeyed the voice of the LORD their God and the message of the prophet Haggai, because the LORD their God had sent him. And the people feared the LORD. 13 Then Haggai, the LORD s messenger, gave this message of the LORD to the people: I am with you, declares the LORD. 14 So the LORD stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua son of Jozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of the whole remnant of the people. They came and began to work on the house of the LORD Almighty, their God, 15 on the twenty-fourth day of the sixth month. SERMONIC SCRIPTURE ~ ZECHARIAH 4:6-10 6 So he said to me, This is the word of the LORD to Zerubbabel: Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the LORD Almighty. 7 What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of God bless it! God bless it! 8 Then the word of the LORD came to me: 9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this temple; his hands will also complete it. Then you will know that the LORD Almighty has sent me to you. 10 Who dares despise the day of small things, since the seven eyes of the LORD that range throughout the earth will rejoice when they see the chosen capstone in the hand of Zerubbabel?
