COMMUNITY HOLOCAUST OBSERV ANC Our community"' s annual Yom HaShoah commemoration will be held on Sunday evening, April 19 th at 7:30 p.m. at Congregation B'nai Jacob, 176 West Side Avenue. The program features a moving candle lighting ceremony that pays tribute to the survivors who live in our community, as well as a special speaker. Come and join Rabbi Brickman as our community shares in this memorial to the victims of the llolocaust. EHUD SPRINZAK TO SPEAK Temple Beth-EI is privileged to have Ehud Sprinzak as our annual Violet Zall-Hordes lecturer this year. Ehud Sprinzak: is Professor of Political Science at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He is currently in the United States on a sabbatical during which he is working at the U.S. Institute of Peace. Professor Sprinzak is a highly regarded and well-respected speaker on many topics both in Israel, and here in the United States. As we celebrate Israel's 50 th Anniversary, he will help us understand the relationship between religion and state in Israel and how that relationship affects the effort to create a nation in which all branches of the Jewish community are recognized as equals. We are sure that you will not want to miss this unique opportunity to hear one of Israel's most sought after speakers. The lecture will be held on Sunday morning. May 3 rd at 9:30 a.m. Tickets are $15.00, including both the lecture and a full breakfast. Tickets are available in the Temple office or by mailing your check to the Temple. TIIANKYOU The Temple is grateful to Ruth and Sol Lubow for opening their home for our most recent fund-raiser. We also express our thanks to all of those who attended and showed their support for the congregation, as well as to those who were unable to attend, but sent a contribution to the Temple.

ADULT EDUCATION "REDISCOVERING OUR JEWISH ROOTS" Our Spring adult education class will begin on Thursday evening, April 23 rd at 7:30 p.m. in the Temple Library. The course will last for 6 weeks. The first three sessions will be taught by our Rabbinic Intern Andrew Davids. Andrew will guide the class through a review of our tradition's perspective on the three central topics of the Jewish faith: GOD, TORAH & ISRAEL. During the last three sessions, Rabbi Brickman will re-examine these same three topics from the perspective of Reform Judaism. This course is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to come and study our tradition. Whether you are just beginning your exploration of Judaism and trying to find your place in our community, or further along your spiritual journey, this course will provide you with important information and interesting insights. Since this is the last course being taught by our Rabbinic Intern, Andrew Davids, those who haven't had an opportunity to study with him are encouraged to do so. We are sure you will find that Andrew is a gifted and engaging teacher. THANK YOU Special thanks to all of those who helped make our "Shabbat Across America" such a success. We look forward to seeing everyone again next year at our 2nd Annual "Shabbat Across America!"
