The pilot project, originally scheduled to begin in late October, has been delayed slightly. SPECIAL ADULT EDUCATION SPEAKER ON THE JEWISH COMMUNITY OF CUBA In preparation for our upcoming congregational mission to Cuba, we have invited Sarah Booth, a resident of Jersey City whose family lives on Gifford Avenue, to speak to us about her recent experiences with the Jewish community of Cuba. Sarah visited Cuba to work on a documentary film on the Jews of Cuba. While we know this presentation will be of particular interest to those who will be traveling to Cuba in November, we are inviting the entire congregation to attend. The lecture will be held on Sunday, October 27, beginning with coffee and cake at 9:30 am, followed by the lecture at 10:00 am. Following the lecture, there will be a special meeting for all of those traveling to Cuba. At the suggestion of one of the members of our congregation, Rabbi Brickman will lead a discussion of the weekly Haftarah reading before our Shabbat morning services beginning on Saturday, October 26 at 9:15 a.m. Our Shabbat morning Haftarah Study group will meet in the social hall until services begin at 10:00 am.
