First Presbyterian Church of Ionia April 15, 2018 Order Of Worship Prelude Chimes of the hour Introit (Insert) Shout To The Lord Welcome and Announcements *Call to Worship Psalm 98 Pastor: O Sing to the LORD a new song, for he has done marvelous things. His right hand and his holy arm have gotten him victory. ALL: The LORD has made known his victory; he has revealed his vindication in the sight of the nations. Pastor: He has remembered his steadfast love and faithfulness to the house of Israel. All the ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God. *those who are able, please stand

ALL: Make a joyful noise to the LORD, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises. Pastor: Sing praises to the LORD with the lyre, with the lyre and the sound of melody. ALL: With trumpets and the sound of the horn make a joyful noise before the King, the LORD. Pastor: Let the sea roar, and all that fills it; the world and those who live in it. ALL: Let the floods clap their hands; let the hills sing together for joy at the presence of the LORD, for he is coming to judge the earth. Pastor: He will judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with equity. *Hymn 469 Morning Has Broken

Prayer of Confession Liturgist: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. But if we confess our sins, God who is faithful and just will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness: Congregation: Merciful God, we confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as our- selves; we have not loved your creation as the good stewards you called us to be. We are truly sorry and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive

us; that we may delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your Name. Kyrie Hymn 572 Lord, have mercy upon us, Christ have mercy upon us, Lord have mercy upon us. Assurance of Pardon Liturgist: Friends, hear and rejoice in the good news! In Jesus Christ, we are forgiven. Congregation: Thanks be to God. Passing of the Peace Pastor: Christ has given us peace that surpasses all understanding. The peace of Christ be with you! Congregation: The peace of Christ be with you also!
