Cason Senior Pastor Scott Harris Associate Pastor Worship Services: Sunday School: Sanctuary: Fellowship Hall: Classrooms: 8:30AM & 11:00AM 9:01AM & 11:00AM 10:00AM Annual Conference While many of you have worked hard this past week in Vacation Bible School, a few of us attended the South Georgia Annual Conference at Jekyll Island. Pastor Scott and Pastor Jimmy were our two clergy delegates while Martha Ray and John Ray served as our two lay delegates (John also served as our District Lay Leader and gave the Laity Address). Bill Hatcher and Charlene Black also represented our church. Among the highlights of the Annual Conference were: Pastor Scott and I were reappointed to this church - Scott for his third year (although he has served here for four years), and I am being reappointed for the 9th year. Our church was recognized for the largest number of professions of faith in the Northeast District - 43. We had the largest net gain in membership (64) of any church in the South Georgia Conference. We were in the Top Ten in Giving to Magnolia Manor in the Conference. We were first in the Northeast District in giving to the Methodist Children s Home ($18,074.75). We were the fourth highest in the South Georgia Conference in giving to Wesley Glen ($13,175). Pastor Jimmy serves as the Chair of the Conference Episcopacy Committee, Bill Hatcher as Leader of the South Georgia Delegation to General Conference and a member of the Extended Cabinet, John Ray serves as our District Lay Leader. Jimmy Cason, John Ray, Charlene Black, and Bill Mathis, Sr. serve on the District Committee on Ordained Ministry. Janice Smith serves as the Northeast District Treasurer and as a member of the District Trustees. Bill Hatcher serves as Chair of the District Committee on Superintendency. ----Pastor Jimmy New Sermon Series - Jonah: The Reluctant Prophet This Sunday we begin a Sermon Series on the Old Testament Book of Jonah.
