7. HOW CAN WE UNDERSTAND THE BIBLE?

Did Jesus keep the Sabbath?

Transcription:

Hebraic roots teaching Part 2 This study is going to be a basic understanding of how to read the Word. So many times people or groups like to define ancient times with modern times and terminology. They do not want to take into account the People, the culture even the customs, because in their mind it does not matter. I am not a Hebrew, an Israelite, and some say a Jew. We will revisit this in just a minute. Our main focus will be to Grow in the knowledge and purpose of Yahusha. (Kepha Bet (2 Peter) 3:18) 2Pet. 3:18 But grow in favor, and in the knowledge of our Sovereign and Savior Yahusha Mashiyach (Messiah). To him be esteem both now and forever. Ahman. Psalm 40:7 is a key verse to understand the purpose of the Mashiyach (Messiah). It will also be a foundational verse in this study. Lo, I have come, in the volume of the book it is written of me This is a Metsoretic text. The LXX has a better translation. It was 70 scribes that translated the Hebrew into the Greek. This is suppose to be closer to the original Hebrew text, before the Metsoretic text came on the seen. LXX version: Sacrifice and offering you would not; but a body have you prepared me: whole-burntoffering and sacrifice for sin you did not require. Then I said, Behold, I come: in the volume of the book it is written concerning me, A body have you prepared for me has been omitted in the Metsoretic text. I wonder why? Now let s look in the book of Hebrews to see if it is in sink with Metsoretic text or the more ancient LXX text. Hebrews 10:5-7 Heb. 10:5 Wherefore when he comes into the world, he says, Sacrifice and offering you would not, but a body have you prepared me: Heb. 10:6 In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you have had no pleasure. Heb. 10:7 Then said I, Lo, I (Yahusha) come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do your will, O Alahiym. We know that this verse is speaking about Yahusha because it is quoted in Hebrews 10:5-7. (Psalm 40:7 = Hebrews 10:7) 1. The volume (book) of the Bible is written about the Messiah and His role in the redemptive plan of Alahiym.

2. There are three witnesses that states who He is. Luke 24:44 confirms that the Law (T [h] urah), Prophets (Nabi ym), and the Psalms (Chatubiym) speak about Yahusha further confirming our understanding of Psalm 40:7. The scriptures is communicating Alahiym (s) plan to us, to understand His plan, we must understand the laws of communication. How is He communicating? 1) Language 2) Culture 3) Customs 4) Idioms This will come apparent later in the lesson. The Hebraic culture which Alahiym gave to His people which includes having an understanding of the Shabbath, the new moon, and the Scriptural Feasts. These are the tools we need to understand the first and second comings of Yahusha, the Mashiyach (Messiah) (Colossians 2:16-17). A custom is associated with the culture. We must understand the customs which Alahiym gave to the nation of Yashra al (Israel) was to understand His instruction to us. Anyone they understand prophecy, specifically for example Revelations, will have to know Harvest and Feast days and times, Hebrew weddings etc. Because all these things are surrounding end-time prophesies. The entire Feast days are linked to end-time prophesy. Rom. 9:3 For I could wish that myself were accursed from Mashiyach (Messiah) for my brethren, my kinsmen according to the flesh: Rom. 9:4 Who are Israelites; to whom pertains the adoption, and the eteem, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of Alahiym, and the promises; Rom. 9:5 Whose are the fathers, and of whom as concerning the flesh Mashiyach (Messiah) came, who is over all, Alahiym blessed forever. Ahman. An idiom is a phrase, saying or slang that is understood in the language, culture, and customs of a given group of people at a given period of time Let s consider an example of a Biblical idiom which is a phrase, saying, or slang which needs to be understood in the language, culture, and customs of the people in scriptural times. In order to do this, let s examine what are a good eye and an evil eye from Matthew 6:22-23. What is a good eye? A good eye is someone who is generous (Proverbs 22:9). Prov. 22:9 He that has a good eye shall be blessed; for he gives of his bread to the poor.

What is a evil eye? A evil eye is someone who is stingy. (Proverbs 23:6 = Deut 15:9) Prov. 23:6 Eat you not the bread of him that has an evil eye, neither desire you his dainty meats: Deut. 15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in your wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and your eye be evil against your poor brother, and you give him naught; and he cry unto Yahuah against you, and it be sin unto you. It turns out that having a good eye or a bad eye was a common manner of speaking when Yahusha taught. The phrase bad eye is often translated as stingy or greedy in other places in the scriptures (Deuteronomy 15:9, Proverbs 23:6, Proverbs 28:22, Matthew 20:15). And the word for good in this verse is translated as generous in some other passages in the scriptures. So Yahusha was using the ordinary language of his day to point out how much better generosity is than stinginess. Places where idioms are, one should ask themselves. Should I ignore and pretend that these idioms do not have any meaning. Should I see it according to my culture and not the way it is understood in scriptural culture? Or should I go back to the scripture and see how Alahiym see it and how he gave it to His people Shatan (Satan) knows faith comes by hearing, hearing what? The Word of Alahiym. So if he can pervert the word, he can pervert their behavior. So he wants to redefine scriptural terms. Question: Have you heard Jews or the Yahudiym are my chosen people? Is this true? No Yashra al (Israel) are my chosen people. The scriptures will define itself. We do not need to mix our own interpretation to it. Why do they call this place among other places Babylon? 894. lrb;db Babel, baw-bel ; from 1101; confusion; Babel (i.e. Babylon), including Babylonia and the Babylonian empire: Babel, Babylon. o 1101. lal;db balal, baw-lal ; a primitive root; to overflow (specifically with oil.); by implication, to mix; also (denominatively from 1098) to fodder: anoint, confound, x fade, mingle, mix (self), give provender, temper. This place allows mixture of cultures religions, doctrine and teaching, thereby causing denomination and belief. You are free to try or taste other belief, which in scripture is prohibited. Why? You start to carry over remnants of that belief into What belief you were suppose to walk in from the very start. The Father HATES mixture, Babylon LOVES mixture. The mixing is for you to try other things. Wants you are mixed, it brings Confusion. This is what brings lawlessness.

If your theology is lawless, then your philosophy will be lawless, then at some point your behavior will be lawless. If His laws were given to set of people, and you merge with Nations that are lawless, what will be the end result? All nations against one nation, that had laws, but not in their heart, will change to a lawless doctrine? Why all nations would look at it as being in some form of bondage, not being free. 2Th. 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom Yahuah shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 459. a nomoß anomos, an -om-os; from 1 (as a negative particle) and 3551; lawless, i.e. (negatively) not subject to (the Jewish) law; (by implication, a Gentile), or (positively) wicked: without law, lawless, transgressor, unlawful, wicked. Wickedness is lawlessness, by definition. If Shatan (Satan) is Lawless, what would his followers be? Dan. 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws (t; d commandments, decree manners) : 8133. aîn v shna}, shen-aw ; (Aramaic) corresponding to 8132: alter, change, (be) diverse. Law Let us talk about the word Law for a minute. In Hebrew this word T [h] urah (Torah) 8451. h rwø;t towrah, to-raw ; or h r;ot torah, to-raw ; from 3384; a precept or statute, especially the Decalogue or Pentateuch: law. o 3384. h rîy yarah, yaw-raw ; or (2 Chr. 26:15) a rîy yara, yaw-raw ; a primitive root; properly, to flow as water (i.e. to rain); transitively, to lay or throw (especially an arrow, i.e. to shoot); figuratively, to point out (as if by aiming the finger), to teach: (+) archer, cast, direct, inform, instruct, lay, shew, shoot, teach(-er,-ing), through. In scripture, T [h] urah (Torah) was considered the 1 st five books. As time continued T [h] urah (Torah) was interchangeable with the Word of Alahiym or the Word of Yahuah. Centuries later when the prophets and writings were gathered together to include the T [h] urah (Torah) it was then called Sefer or the scriptures. Mashiyach Himself called it that as well. This was known in His day, just as it should be today. o Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spoke unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Mushah (Moses), and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. o Luke 24:45 Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures,

Mark 12:24 And Yahusha answering said unto them, Do you not therefore err, because you know not the scriptures, neither the power of Alahiym? Acts 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 18:24 And a certain Yahudiy named Apollos, born at Alexandria, an eloquent man, and mighty in the scriptures, came to Ephesus. Acts 18:25 This man was instructed in the way of Yahuah; and being fervent in the spirit, he spoke and taught diligently the things of Yahuah, knowing only the immersion of Yahuchanan (John). Heb. 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. Col. 2:16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an set-apart day, or of the new moon, or of the Shabbath days: Col. 2:17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Mashiyach (Messiah). 1Cor. 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Mashiyach (Messiah). 1Cor. 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto you were not able to bear it, neither yet now are you able. 1Cor. 3:3 For you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men? 1Cor. 3:4 For while one says, I am of Shaul (Paul) ; and another, I am of Apollos; are you not carnal? 1Cor. 3:5 Who then is Shaul (Paul), and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom you believed, even as Yahuah gave to every man? 1Pet. 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speaking, 1Pet. 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that you may grow thereby: We need to be weaned from milk (Isaiah 28:9) if we are to mature in Mashiyach (Messiah) and understand deeper spiritual truths (I Corinthians 3:1-2, Hebrews 5:12-14). Is. 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. Is. 28:10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

6673. wax tsav, tsav; or wdx tsav, tsawv; from 6680; an injunction: commandment, precept. o 6680. hdwdx tsavah, tsaw-vaw ; a primitive root; (intensively) to constitute, enjoin: appoint, (for-)bid, (give a) charge, (give a, give in, send with) command(-er, -ment), send a messenger, put, (set) in order. 6957. waq qav, kav; or w q qav, kawv; from 6960 (compare 6961); a cord (as connecting), especially for measuring; figuratively, a rule; o 6960. hdw q qavah, kaw-vaw ; a primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figuratively) to expect: gather (together), look, patiently, tarry, wait (for, on, upon). 1) KJV Word of Alahiym (WORD = LAW) Acts 17:11 searched the scriptures NT wasn't relevant in 1 st Century but was canonized as scripture Centuries later. Acts 15:21...The law is preached in EVERY CITY every Shabbath day Luke 8:19-21 Then came to him his mother and his brethren, and could not come at him for the press. And it was told him by certain which said, Your mother and your brethren stand without, desiring to see you. And he answered and said unto them, My mother and my brethren are these which hear the word of Alahiym, and do it. Luke 11:27-28 And it came to pass, as he spoke these things, a certain woman of the company lifted up her voice, and said unto him, Blessed is the womb that bare you, and the paps which you have sucked. But he said, Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of Alahiym, and keep it. What is the Word of Alahiym? Exod 24:7-9 And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people: and they said, All that Yahuah has said will we do, and be obedient. And Mushah (Moses) took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which Yahuah has made with you concerning all these words. Then went up Mushah (Moses), and Aaron, Nadab, and Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Yashra al (Israel) : Deut 17:19 And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear Yahuah his Alahiym, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them: Deut 31:12 Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and your stranger that is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahuah your Alahiym, and observe to do all the words of this law:

Acts 6:7 And the word of Alahiym increased; and the number of the disciples multiplied in Jerusalem greatly; and a great company of the priests were obedient to the faith. II Ki 23:24 Moreover the workers with familiar spirits, and the wizards, and the images, and the idols, and all the abominations that were spied in the land of Yahudah (Judah) and in Jerusalem, did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of Yahuah. Acts 12:24 But the word of Alahiym grew and multiplied. Neh 8:9 And Nachmyah (Nehemiah), which is the Tirshatha (Governor), and Ahzra (Ezra) the priest the scribe, and the Levites that taught the people, said unto all the people, This day is holy unto Yahuah your Alahiym; mourn not, nor weep. For all the people wept, when they heard the words of the law. Ps 78:1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. Isa 1:10 Hear the word of Yahuah, you rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our Alahiym, you people of Gomorrah. Acts 11:1 And the apostles and brethren that were in Yudaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of Alahiym. Isa 2:3 And many people shall go and say, Come you, and let us go up to the mountain Yahuah, to the house of the Alahiym of Ya aqub (Jacob) ; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of Yahauh from Jerusalem. Deut. 4:2 You shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall you diminish ought from it, that you may keep the commandments of Yahuah your Alahiym which I command you. Alahiym gave the understanding of Him and His Kingdom in the form of spiritual pictures, blueprints or shadows. In other words, the literal or natural world was given to communicate the spiritual world. Therefore, Alahiym spoke to His people through different mechanisms including: 1. Parables (Psalm 78:1-4, Mark 4:10-13) Psa. 78:1 Give ear, O my people, to my law: incline your ears to the words of my mouth. Psa. 78:2 I will open my mouth in a parable: I will utter dark sayings of old: Psa. 78:3 Which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. Psa. 78:4 We will not hide them from their children, showing to the generation to come the praises of Yahuah, and his strength, and his wonderful works that he has done.

Psa. 78:5 For he established a witness in Ya aqub (Jacob), and appointed a law in Yashra al (Israel), which he commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children: Psa. 78:6 That the generation to come might know them, even the children which should be born; who should arise and declare them to their children: Psa. 78:7 That they might set their hope in Alahiym, and not forget the works of Alahiym, but keep his commandments Mark 4:10 And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable. Mark 4:11 And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of Alahiym: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables: Mark 4:12 That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them. Mark 4:13 And he said unto them, Know you not this parable? and how then will you know all parables? Deep or dark sayings/mysteries (Mishle/Proverbs 1:1-6, I Corinthians 2:6-10, 14). Prov. 1:1 The proverbs of Shalamah (Solomon) the son of Daud (David), king of Yashra al (Israel) ; Prov. 1:2 To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; Prov. 1:3 To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; Prov. 1:4 To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion. Prov. 1:5 A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: Prov. 1:6 To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. Prov. 1:7 The fear of Yahuah is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. 1Cor. 2:6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to naught: 1Cor. 2:7 But we speak the wisdom of Alahiym in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which Alahiym ordained before the world unto our esteem: 1Cor. 2:8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Sovereign of esteem. 1Cor. 2:9 But as it is written, Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which Alahiym has prepared for them that love him. 1Cor. 2:10 But Alahiym has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of Alahiym.

1Cor. 2:13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man s wisdom teaches, but which the Set-apart Spirit teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. 1Cor. 2:14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of Alahiym: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 350. ajnakri nw anakrino, an-ak-ree -no; from 303 and 2919; properly, to scrutinize, i.e. (by implication) investigate, interrogate, determine: ask, question, discern, examine, judge, search. Spiritual blueprints/shadows (Ezekiel 43:10-12, Colossians 2:16-17). The T [h] urah of Alahiym was given in this form to fulfill His Word. Those who would obey the greatest commandment (Deuteronomy 6:4-9, Mark 12:28-31) in spirit and truth (John 4:24) would know and understand the ways of Alahiym. But, to the wicked, they would consider the things of Alahiym as foolishness. All relationships begin with an agreement. Never has one started off out of works. That comes later. Love, mercy and or favor, starts the process. From their comes some form of repentance. Then comes instructions. Keep in mind one does not cancel the other, but is built on one another. Love is at the start of the process and at the end of the process. 1. Ahdam and Chuah was created perfect, they did nothing that warranted their creation. They had a relationship with the Creator before given any commandments. 2. Nach or Noah found favor (Grace) then was given a commandment, what to do 3. Abraham He believed Alahiym and it was counted unto him for righteousness. Then in Bere. Gen. 26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws. 4. Yashra al (Israel) was taking out of Mitsrayim (Egypt) established a relationship then was given the Laws and Commandments. 5. This is the Pattern from the very beginning. But you cannot have one with the other [Faith and works is the set pattern, you cannot have one without the other]. What is Faith? 4102. pi stiß pistis, pis -tis; from 3982; persuasion, i.e. credence; moral conviction (of religious truth, or the truthfulness of God or a religious teacher), especially reliance upon Christ for salvation; abstractly, constancy in such profession; by extension, the system of religious (Gospel) truth itself: assurance, belief, believe, faith, fidelity. o 3982. pei qw peitho, pi -tho; a primary verb; to convince (by argument, true or false); by analogy, to pacify or conciliate (by other fair means); reflexively or passively, to assent (to evidence or authority), to rely (by inward certainty): agree, assure, believe, have confidence, be (wax) conflent, make friend, obey, persuade, trust, yield.

The Son had Faith that the Father would resurrect him. The Son had faith that If He walks in faith and believe in the instructions of the Father that being obedient would be reward to him. (It was in His pray in the garden as well). This is why when the scriptures say if they obey, i.e. have faith in what He told them that they would be prosperous in all that they set out to do. How many have heard of the sinners prayer? They believe that if you say it then you are saved. But If you do not say it then you are not saved. But how it works is a confession, acknowledgement and repentance. After that there are some fruit that must follow, good works. There lies the proof. Major problems concerning the Mashiyach (Messiah) verses The Christ. Their seems to be a Hebrew Messiah, which keeps the Commandments, teaches others to Keep the laws and Commandments and to show Love, where as the Christ fulfilled the law, being interrupted as being done away with. We are free from the Law and it does not apply to us anymore. Lastly Church vs. Israel Many in the church and other groups for that matter, teach that Israel is not the church. Israel was married to the Father and that the Messiah came with a new covenant, and is married to the church. 1577. ejkklhsi a ekklesia, ek-klay-see -ah; from a compound of 1537 and a derivative of 2564; a calling out, i.e. (concretely) a popular meeting, especially a religious congregation (Jewish synagogue, or Christian community of members on earth or saints in heaven or both): assembly, church. 6950. lah q qahal, kaw-hal ; a primitive root; to convoke: assemble (selves) (together),

gather (selves) (together). Ekklesia Used In Conjunction with Sunagoge In some cases, the noun form of the one word is used in connection with the verb form of the other word. Below is a verse in which in the LXX the noun form of church is used in connection with the verb form of synagogue. Now we ll look at two verses in which the verb form of church is used in connection with the noun form of synagogue, the opposite situation of what we found in the last quoted verse. 1. And gather thou all the congregation together unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation. (Uayqra - Lev. 8:3) 2. Take the rod, and gather you the assembly together, you, and Aaron your brother, and speak you unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and you shall bring forth to them water out of the rock: so you shall give the congregation and their beasts drink. (Bamid - Num. 20:8) Verses Where Ekklesiazein Appears Alone Here are three verses in which the verb form of church is found without either sunagoge or sunagogein. 1. Gather the people together, men, and women, and children, and thy stranger that is within your gates, that they may hear, and that they may learn, and fear Yahuah your Alahiym, and observe to do all the words of this law. (Dabar - Deut. 31:12) 2. Gather unto me all the elders of your tribes, and your officers, that I may speak these words in their ears, and call heaven and earth to record against them. (Dabar - Deut. 31:28) 3. Go, gather together all the Yahudiym that are present in Shushan, and fast you for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish. (Esther 4:16) 4. Acts 7:37 This is that Mushah (Moses), which said unto the children of Yashra al (Israel), A prophet shall Yahuah your Alahiym raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall you hear. Acts 7:38 This is he, that was in the church in the wilderness with the messenger (angel) which spoke to him in the mount Sinai, and with our fathers: who received the lively oracles to give unto us:

Could it be that The assembly or church that is being spoken of in the writings could be of the Mashiyach s (Messiah s) own culture and people. And those that want to be apart of this assembly can be grafted in [Romans 11]? Just as it was when they left Mitsraiym (Egypt). Ex. 12:48 And when a stranger shall sojourn with you, and will keep the Passover to Yahuah, let all his males be circumcised, and then let him come near and keep it; and he shall be as one that is born (Native-born) in the land: for no uncircumcised person shall eat thereof. Lev. 19:34 But the stranger that dwells with you shall be unto you as one born among (Native-born) you, and you shall love him as yourself; for you were strangers in the land of Mitsraiym (Egypt) : I am Yahuah your Alahiym. Listen to the language of the Greek word ekklesia, calling out. Yashra al (Israel) was called out. Every time they assembled it would be called in the English an assembly or church. This word for church appears more time in the Tanak Old testament then in the Messianic writings New Testament. This understanding will effect a persons theology. There is a decision that one must make in the path to righteousness. If you have a belief system or if my Teachers, Pastors, Church or friends teach what is different from Scriptures. Who shall you side with? One cannot study the word and rely on the Spirit alone, just as one cannot study the word without the spirit. You need both in order to understand what the Creator is asking and offering His people to fully understand the scriptures you need to understand both Covenants.
