E-Newsletter I have just returned from the THINK ORANGE Conference in Atlanta. Almost 5000 were in attendance from all over North America. Jennifer Baker and my wife attended on Thursday, and Wayne King, Tim Chaney and I attended on Friday. I was definitely in the top 10% age group which means in ORANGE age Wayne King is almost dead. There were lots of energetic youth leaders and lay leaders from many churches hungry to experience the ORANGE philosophy. What is the ORANGE philosophy? Let me attempt to explain. Think of something Red being smashed into something Yellow. What do you get? Orange. Think of the local church being Yellow and the family unit being Red. Smash both together with the whole church ministering to and with the whole family and you get the THINK ORANGE Special points of interest: Men s Ministry Update Pictures Welcome New Members 2012 Graduates A word from Pastor Jim... philosophy. This can be demonstrated in many ways, but basically you think up creative ways to minister to all the age groups of the church by using all the age groups of the church at the same time as best as possible. Segregation by age classification has to decrease and multi-generational ministry has to increase. We have attempted to integrate this concept at FBC to some degree over the past two years. Our 252Kid s Zone Sunday school class is an attempt to get more adults involved with the youth. Our Youth Group meetings have more adults interacting with the teenagers. Our East Wall Ministry is an attempt to get whole families to minister together. Our Family Camp is an attempt to fellowship with lots of Families together. Our prayer posse matches a youth Think of the local church being Yellow and the family unit being Red. Smash both together... Volume 1, Issue 3 May - June 2012 with and adult. Our Men s ministry clay shoot involved teens and adults. Our music ministry has used a lot of combinations of teens and adults. Think of a way you can bridge the gap between generations in our church! Hey older crowd why not ask a few teens to sit with you during church and get them off the back row. Take one out to lunch and go see a ball game. Volunteer to be a specialist in 252 during Sunday School. Join the prayer posse. Mentor someone in the youth generation. Best idea think up something creative yourself to minister to a whole family! There are lots of ways to THINK ORANGE. Pastor Jim

It was a cool and cloudy Saturday when 15 guys left Dalton and headed to Benton, Tennessee in search of the elusive clay pigeon. With shotguns in hand we were told that we would feast on the old bird if our aim was true. Alas, that clay pigeon is one tough bird to gun down. Flying from various directions, sometimes at the same time those clay pigeons were hard to hit. To be sure, a number of them went down. However, at the end of the day, I m afraid more escaped than were bagged. Once the shooting was done we discovered that clay pigeons do Coming Up Next May 10 th Night in the Woods at 6:30 pm! However, it was worth the trip and a great time was had by all. This year the men s ministry of Fellowship Bible Church has a number of events planned to encourage men to spend time together, learn from each other, and grow together in our walk with Christ. Please check the church calendar for upcoming events in May and June. Get off the couch, put the remote away, and come out and join us. I think you will be pleased by what a good time you will have. And if you are not careful, you might just find your walk with Christ deepening as you spend time with other men who love God. In addition to these scheduled events, all men are welcome and encouraged to meet with other men for quality prayer time on Saturday mornings at 8:00 am in the church lobby.
