PACIFIC WOMEN S LINK SPEAKER LIST DIANA WIMBER, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA diwimber@icloud.com Sharing with others about the importance of reading God s Word for themselves and becoming more intentional in prayer is something I am passionate about. The storms of life will hit all of us, but knowing where to go before, after, and in the midst of them makes all the difference in how we weather the journey. I am a lover of words and use hospitality inside and outside my home to help women feel welcome and loved. I ve been married for 37 years to Paul, am the mother of three adult sons, and Grandma Di to four little people. SERENA BLAIR, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA forestbeachblair@gmail.com Saved by Grace Lover of Jesus Wife to my sweetheart, John Mother to Audrey & Esther Daughter Sister Worship Leader Hairdresser Lover of all things salty All in that order! Although there are many things I haven t experience, seen, or hear, I bring knowledge of the Word, a heart for Jesus, and a love for women. I have been attending/serving at women s retreats for approximately 16 years. I have led and attended many women s bible studies and can honestly say, whether it be topical or a book of the Bible, they are all my favorites. I realize the call on my life to worship my Lord and Savior, to model servant leadership, and to live out an active faith in my interaction with believers and not yet believers. my life has forever been changed because of Him and I try to reflect that in all that I do.

KIM MAXWELL, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA b10n8mom@gmail.com I am a native North-westerner, have a Master s degree in elementary education and a heart to serve in and pray for the public schools. I married Steve, my college sweetheart, in 1991 and enjoy the great adventure of raising teenage twins. As a result, my current favorite hobbies are learning all I can about Christian metal bands and girls basketball. A stay-at-home mom after teaching elementary school children for 10 years, I now teach Sunday school, teach a weekly women s Bible study at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church and leads a prayer ministry for moms with school-aged children in Gig Harbor. ELAINE OOSTRA, STERRY MEMORIAL EPC, ROSWELL, ID elaineann.faith@gmail.com A year ago, I published my first book, One Brick at a Time. (It s on Amazon). It s my life story about being raised with a mother who suffered from mental illness and the effect it had on our family. It s about Gods amazing love, forgiveness and healing of broken emotions. I wrote my story to give God glory and to show others He does heal our brokenness when we cry out to Him. I want to give others hope. I am in the process, (almost done!) of writing my first bible study, In This Same Way Teach. Using Titus 2:1-5. This study will train women in the importance of mentoring those younger and how to mentor with true biblical teaching. I am working on a bible study for teen girls that will be called, In This Same Way, Learn, using Titus 2:1-5 I have studied Precept Bible Study for over 20 years. This has biblically grounded me. For the past 16 years, I have lead a high school girl s bible study in my home weekly. I also am part of a teaching team (and the lead teacher) that holds a bible class off campus for high school students during school hours called Launch Pad. I love teaching Gods Word!

DIANE VACCARO, FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, FRESNO, CA dianevaccaro97@gmail.com My journey with Jesus began when I was 12 years old and has been marked by all manner of highs and lows. I ve entered deep valleys as I walked through loss, I ve had mountain top moments that have helped me soar, and have journeyed all points in between. In all the tears and laughter, I deeply depend on God and his Word to change me more into Jesus likeness everyday. I have been involved in teaching and leading women s bible studies, as well as speaking at women s retreats, for over 10 years. Bringing women together in the context of spiritual growth is powerful and has such a wonderful impact on personal lives as well as the life of the church. I believe that humor, personal stories, and solid biblical teaching are a great combination for helping women open up about their own lives, connect with those around them, and make room for God s Holy Spirit to do a good work. Topics I have taught on are Friendship, Parenting/Marriage, God s Redeeming Love, Spiritual Practices, as well as specific books of scripture (Judges, Hosea, Matthew, Acts, Galatians, James). I am married to Jeremy Vaccaro, Senior Pastor at First Presbyterian Church in Fresno, CA. We have 3 children. TINA PICARD, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA tina.picard@live.com My passion in ministry is to help God s people, especially women, know and understand their talents and gifts they have been given to serve and equip others in the body of Christ, to maintain the unity of the body, and present others mature in Christ. After almost twenty years of experience leading Bible studies and small groups for various women s ministries, I feel fortunate to have recently completed my B.A. in Religion and Philosophy at Northwest University. As wife to Howie, mom to two grown daughters, and Grammy to three amazing grandchildren, I love encouraging women in balancing the home, work and spiritual aspects of our lives. In addition to serving in my local church, I am currently leading Bible studies for women at the local YMCA where I also work as a Member Services Rep. In my spare time, I love to cook, read, and craft, especially with family and friends.

RACHEL WHITE, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA racheljkwhite@gmail.com I became a mom 3 and a half years ago, and since that point have been reaching out to other moms of young children, connecting them to church community, sharing Jesus with them and intentionally discipling them. I have worked to launch and lead a missionally focused Lifegroup with this same vision and have coached and launched others to do the same. I'm particularly passionate about reaching those not already connected at church, or new to the area. I remember well what it feels like to be in a new place and culture, since my husband and I moved to Gig Harbor 6 years ago from Oxford in the U.K. Since my teenage years I have been passionate about having great Bible knowledge and Apologetics training in order to effectively share faith with others. This led me to undertake a degree in Theology at Oxford University. Right before I started my degree I had a significant mission experience spending 5 months in Uganda, where I felt God called me to long-term mission (I never imagined it would mean Gig Harbor!) and a formative 6 months working for Scripture Union in publishing, which later would lead me to spend my college vacations as an author and editor of Bible Study notes. All of these and many other ministry opportunities I had to lead in my time in Oxford continued to grow my passion for evangelism and give me a vision to serve in ministry full time in my future. I met and married my husband Ellis, who is now Assistant Pastor for Evangelism at Chapel Hill, during our time in Oxford. After one year married and further training to become an elementary teacher for me, we moved to Gig Harbor after a crazy God connection and a leap of faith to serve as missionaries in evangelism in 2011. I was on staff at Chapel Hill for 2 years and during that time I worked with my husband to lead Christianity Explored. I also taught about evangelism in a series for women, taught Apologetics to 8th graders at a local school, and most significantly reinvisioned the hospitality ministry. Since that point I have been involved in developing a vision for our new Saturday night worship service, written Lifegroup Bible Study notes for the church, and most notably have launched and multiplied a growing, countercultural Lifegroup for young moms. I'm most passionate about sharing my faith with others and training and equipping others to do the same. I love that I get to integrate this into my life as a stay at home mom and I'm so excited to have our little Evelyn (3) and Ezra (21 months) also participate in life on mission. We love to serve as a family and see that God has called us all to follow him thousands of miles from home to do so!

BETH PAZ, FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, FRESNO, CA bpaz@fpcfresno.org I has dedicated my life to mobilizing and equipping young people towards God s shalom mission through ministry and leadership development. My heart is to raise up a next generation of leaders who will both announce and demonstrate the fullness of the Gospel; preaching and living out a message that marries evangelism and justice. Raised as an evangelical Christian, I grew up in rural Washington wanting to become an overseas missionary, but God captured my heart to pursue inner-city missions. For 11 years I worked with InterVarsity s Fresno Institute for Urban Leadership. My husband and I launched the Jephthah Prison Project and 701:United, a fitness and faith MMA gym for inner-city youth. I currently work as the Director of High School Ministry at First Presbyterian Church, Fresno and am pursuing my Masters of Divinity from Fuller Theological Seminary. In my free time I love tending my succulent garden, going to the zoo, and hanging out with neighbors and friends! Ivan and I have successfully stayed married for 7 years and live as missionaries and friends within a community of predominately Spanish-speaking neighbors. I received training through InterVarsity s National Preaching cohort and love to speak. For more information about me, please visit www.pazindacity.wordpress.com. LANA ROBERTS, FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, FRESNO, CA lroberts@fpcfresno.org Resource Council. I was called onto the pastoral staff of First Presbyterian Church in 2006. I am passionate about encouraging believers in every generation to say yes to Jesus, for the first time and then over and over again every day! I love the way God s Word is both easily accessible and immensely deep, and how the Holy Spirit applies it to our lives as we live in community. I am blessed to be married to Brian, mother to Kaylan and Brandon, MIL to Sarah, and Mimi to four oh-so-quickly-growing grandsons. I m a full-on extrovert who loves to sing, read, garden, and knit things that don t have to fit anyone. Besides leading the Deacons and Women s Ministries at FPC, I serve as a member of the Pacific presbytery s newly-formed Pacific Women s Link. This year, 2017-2018, I am especially excited to chair the EPC s Women s

MEGAN HACKMAN, CHAPEL HILL CHURCH, GIG HARBOR, WA mhackman@chapelhillpc.org I m Megan, currently a mom of a toddler, a wife, an associate pastor at Chapel Hill Presbyterian Church, a homemaker, a gardener, a student, and not always in that order. I receive a a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and am ordained in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. I grew up Lutheran, found Jesus in a Baptist church, married a charismatic in a Presbyterian church, so I feel at home anywhere Jesus is preached. The great passions of my life and the Good News that we can know God and do life with him. We know that he loves us. Through his son Jesus we are given tremendous access to God. He loves us more than we can understand, and he wants us more free than we know. I would be excited to work with you to hear how God is moving among the women of your church. It might be that I could speak into that or that I might know someone who could more effectively share with you in their season of your life, so I am open to talking if you re just exploring what your retreat and teaching options might be. I am most comfortable doing expository teaching - that is, honing in on a book or a passage of the Bible. I can do themed teaching if it comes naturally out of the biblical text. Favorite topics of mine are Exodus, Luke, Hebrews (I have a Bible Study for Hebrews), prayer, waiting, and presence. Please email me if you would like to talk more!
